A quick check of what's planned for the upgraded 508 bus timetable to compare it with what it ran over 70 years ago. The new timetable will (mostly) restore frequencies to 1955 levels. The 15 minute service will restore weekday service. However back then Saturday was considered a weekday which it isn't now. So Saturdays will be every 20 min. Sunday in the 1950s was quiet, especially the morning. So buses then either didn't run or were infrequent. In this case every 30 minutes before service ramps up to every 15 min in the afternoon. The weekend timetable being introduced will be more consistent with a 20 min service across the day (we don't yet know what evening frequencies will be).
