Sometimes, being part of our community means more than just driving.

We drive children to and from school and hear their stories firsthand.

Because we want to support our community and keep our kids free from bullying and violence, we gladly said yes when the Sammy D Foundation asked us to help.

We all want safety for our children, which is why we love donating our Driving Miss Daisy services to support important, life-changing causes.

We are incredibly proud to back the Sammy D Foundation and the vital work they do to keep kids safe.

💛 We are so fortunate to work alongside amazing people in the aged care and community sector.

One of the things we love most about what we do is meeting others who are in this industry for all the right reasons, because they genuinely care. The people making a difference every day often have the biggest hearts and a deep commitment to helping others live well, stay connected, and feel supported.

It was wonderful catching up with the team at Fidens Home Care⁠ at the Community Aged Care Expo in Mount Barker. Together, we are all working towards the same goal: helping people remain independent, connected, and cared for in their own communities.

🐾 Some weeks remind us that being there matters.

This week, Daisy has had the privilege of helping precious four-legged family member get where they needed to be. From visits to Meadows Veterinary Centre - Adelaide Hills Equine, Pet & Animal Care, High Street Vets Strathalbyn, and SASH - Small Animal Specialist Hospital specialist we’ve spent time alongside worried pet owners doing everything they can for the animals they love.

Fur babies are never “just animals.” They are family members, companions, comforters and loyal friends.

For some people they true life companions and essential assistance dogs 🐶 who give us much and ask little in return through life’s ups and downs.

We’re grateful that we can help make these journeys a little easier by taking the stress out of the travel, offering a helping hand, and making sure both pets and their humans feel supported along the way.

Because sometimes the most important journeys are the ones we take for those who can’t tell us how much they need us. 🐾💙

🌧️ When the weather turns wild, slow down and take care. 🚗💙

The roads around the Hills are looking pretty ordinary at the moment. Heavy rain, reduced visibility, slippery roads and plenty of standing water can turn a routine trip into a stressful one.

If you do need to travel, allow extra time, increase your following distance, turn your headlights on and don’t be afraid to pull over somewhere safe if conditions become too difficult.

For many of our clients, getting to a medical appointment, the shops or simply catching up with friends doesn’t stop because it’s raining. That’s where having a warm car, a safe driver and someone who genuinely cares can make all the difference.

At Driving Miss Daisy Mt Barker, we know that sometimes the journey is about more than getting from A to B.

Today is for the women who show up tired but still keep loving.
Who carry everyone else while often forgetting themselves.
Who worry, nurture, guide, protect, encourage, and somehow keep going even on the hard days.

For some, today will be joyful.
