In Australia, 4.4 million people live with a disability, it is estimated that 80-85% have an invisible disability.

What is a hidden or invisible disability?
A hidden (or invisible) disability is one that is neither immediately apparent nor easily seen. These can include, but are not limited to:

• Neurological conditions (e.g. epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, migraines)
• Neurodevelopmental or cognitive (e.g. ADHD, dyslexia, learning disorders)
• Chronic illness or pain conditions
• Sensory and processing (e.g. auditory processing disorder, sensory sensitivities)
• Mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety)

At Driving Miss Daisy, our companion drivers have training in Hidden Disabilities, helping them better understand and support people who may have needs that aren't immediately visible.

Not all disabilities are visible. Small acts of understanding and support can make a big difference, helping people with hidden disabilities feel seen and included.

🌼💛 HAPPY 81ST BIRTHDAY, JUDITH! 💛🌼

🎂 81 years young and still enjoying life’s beautiful adventures! 🎉

The day was all about celebrating our lovely Judith and making her 81st birthday extra special! 💐

Our wonderful Daisy Jo surprised Judith with a beautiful bunch of flowers before setting off on a day filled with laughter, smiles and adventures! 🚙🌸

Their travels took them to the beautiful Gold Coast Spit, where they enjoyed the coastal scenery, before making their way to Paradise Point for a delicious birthday lunch and, of course, some yummy coffee! ☕🍽️💕

At Driving Miss Daisy Ormeau, we believe birthdays deserve to be celebrated, memories deserve to be made, and everyone deserves to feel special. 💛

What a wonderful opportunity to help support the children in our community

🎄🎁 WE NEED CHRISTMAS ELVES! 🎁🎄

❤️ Could you spare just 2–3 hours a week to help make Christmas magical for kids in care?

Christmas Presents for Kids in Care is looking for some wonderful new volunteers to join our friendly team at our Upper Coomera warehouse!

Last year, we provided personalised Christmas presents for 774 children living in residential care, and this year we're hoping to help even more! ❤️

We need helping hands to pick and pack Christmas gift bags, making sure every child receives presents chosen especially for them. 🎁

✨ VOLUNTEER SHIFTS AVAILABLE ✨

🌙 Monday to Thursday evenings – up to 8pm

☀️ Thursday & Friday – 11am to 2pm

🎄 Saturday & Sunday – 9am to 12pm

We offer flexible 2–3 hour shifts within these times.

We're ideally looking for volunteers who can commit to at least one shift per week over the next 6 weeks.

No experience needed, just a willingness to help and a little Christmas spirit! ❤️
