Vaughan and Helen's story is one of love, care, and connection, as they channel their shared passions for making a difference and giving back through their "Driving Miss Daisy" companion driving service. Offering kindness, companionship, and community to Nambour and beyond. Helen's career has spanned roles as a former family day care educator, a nursing assistant within high care facilities, and a

long career as a registered nurse specialising in surgery. Paired with Vaughan’s background as a chef and IT professional in the medical field. Creating a team rooted in gentle patience and empathy, delivering warm, reliable experiences for private, aged care, and NDIS clients. Beyond work, their adventurous and caring nature shines through, whether savouring hidden food gems or playing PickleBall. Driving Miss Daisy Nambour are here to help you and your loved ones, whether it’s for an appointment, a shopping trip, a haircut, or even a surprise ‘mystery tour’? Whatever your need is, we are here to help (and have a bit of fun along the way). We will not only take you to an appointment, but can wait with you, and bring you safely home to your front door. We can take you to your local shops, even help you with finding specials on your weekly shopping, and after we have driven you home, help you unpack your groceries as well. We do not honk the horn. On ANZAC Day we all remember the sacrifices made to create the future of our Australia, a country we love and cherish. Australia is a place of challenges, good mates and times to celebrate.

Driving Miss Daisy asks everyone to stand tall, listen to words important on the day and help someone, even a person that you do not yet call a friend. Our commitment is to do the same every day for you.

We Will Remember Them.

Lest We Forget those that served including Helen’s Grandfather Bill and Great Grandfather Percy.
Lt-Cdr Henry William “Bill” Whant, born in 1923 in North London, served as a courageous fighter pilot in the Royal Navy during World War II, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and likely flying missions from aircraft carriers in defence of Allied forces. His quiet strength and leadership echoed the legacy of his father, Percy Williams, who had served decades earlier as a teenage medic in the Royal Army Medical Corps during World War I, tending to wounded soldiers under fire. Though they fought in different ways—one with a cockpit and the other with a stretcher—both men shared a deep sense of duty, compassion, and quiet heroism that defined their lives and left a lasting mark on those who knew them.
