❄️ **Heads up, Halifax — snow is coming tonight**

Forecast for Halifax is calling for **2–10 cm of snow overnight**.
That means slippery roads, reduced visibility, and higher risk of accidents by morning.

🚨 **And here’s why this matters even more…**

Over the past week in Nova Scotia:

▪️ Police reported **multiple impaired driving arrests during weekend checkpoints**
▪️ Drivers were found **off the road in ditches after losing control**
▪️ Several incidents involved **unsafe speeds and dangerous conditions**

👉 Add snow + impaired driving = **serious risk**

💡 **Tonight is not the night to take chances**

If you’re going out:
✔️ Plan your ride home
✔️ Don’t drink and drive
✔️ Give yourself extra time
✔️ Stay alert on the road

🚗 **Hosting an event? Think ahead.**

Pass The Keys helps you:

✔️ Keep parking organized
✔️ Reduce chaos and confusion
✔️ Improve safety for your guests
✔️ Ensure smooth traffic flow even in snow

---

✅ Snow or not — safety should always be part of the plan.

🚨 **This is happening RIGHT NOW in Nova Scotia…**

Over just the past few days, multiple impaired driving incidents were reported across Nova Scotia — and the pattern is repeating every week.

▪️ On April 21, a driver crashed into a ditch in Waverley — police later found **empty alcohol containers in the vehicle** and arrested the driver for impairment

▪️ Just days before, at checkpoints in the Halifax area, **two more drivers were arrested in one weekend**, both failing roadside breath tests

▪️ Earlier the same week, in and around Halifax, police stopped a speeding driver and responded to another vehicle already in a ditch — **both drivers were impaired**

👉 This isn’t rare anymore
👉 This is happening every single week

**And sometimes… it ends worse.**
Earlier this year, an impaired driver was involved in a head-on crash that **cost a life in Nova Scotia**

🚨 **Another week — more impaired drivers in Nova Scotia…**

This is happening right now in Nova Scotia. Not somewhere far away — here, on our roads.

▪️ Just days ago, Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested **two drivers in one night** in the Halifax area — one was speeding, another ended up in a ditch after losing control.

▪️ In another recent case, a driver crashed into a snowbank, hit a truck, and then a power pole — and was later arrested for impairment.

▪️ Police also report cases of drivers going **extreme speeds (close to 200 km/h)** while impaired — putting everyone on the highway at serious risk.

👉 This is not rare.
👉 This is happening every week.

**One bad decision can affect dozens of lives.**

💡 Now think about your next event…

Weddings.

🚨 **This is still happening in Nova Scotia…**

Over the past weeks, multiple impaired driving cases have been reported across Nova Scotia.
Some ended with cars off the road. Some could have been much worse.

In Halifax alone, police continue to deal with drivers who made one wrong decision — and put everyone around them at risk.

👉 It only takes ONE moment:
**Drink + Drive = Risk Everything**

STAY SAFE.

Ahead of Impaired Driving Prevention Week, Pass The Keys Halifax echoes the RCMPNS warning: Don’t drive impaired – and buckle up every trip. Driving drunk or drowsy endangers everyone on the road. In Nova Scotia, police will be out in force this week conducting sobriety checkpoints and enforcing seatbelt laws. We remind you:

Don’t drive impaired. Alcohol, drugs or fatigue behind the wheel greatly increase crash risk. Even at the legal limit, impairment can occur. Police crackdowns remind us how deadly it can be – roughly 30 Canadians die every week in alcohol-related crashes Plan ahead: book Pass The Keys, and we’ll drive you and your car home safely (day or night).
Buckle up. Every person, every seat, every ride. Unbelted passengers are far more likely to be seriously injured or ejected in a crash. It takes seconds and saves lives.
Protect the kids. Parents: you’re responsible for children under 16. Make sure car seats and boosters are used correctly every time.
Drive sober. Drinking, cannabis or any impairing substance can cost up to $600–$2,000 in fines and 1 year’s suspension for a first DUI It’s not worth the risk or the record.
Plan for a safe night out: Call Pass The Keys in advance. Our screened, professional drivers will pick you up at home or the bar and bring you back – no worries, no OUI. We’re open and ready throughout the awareness week and beyond.

🚘 Make the choice now: Stay sober. Buckle up. Book a Pass The Keys driver. 🚘

Legal/Ethical Note: This message promotes public safety, not alcohol sales. It complies with Canadian regulations: we avoid any glamorization of drinking, target only adults (21+), and focus on preventing harm All stated penalties are accurate for Nova Scotia law.

Ahead of National Impaired Driving Prevention Week, is reminding you that officers will be out in force across the province. Impaired driving puts every road user at risk.

🚔 This weekend and throughout the upcoming awareness week, police will be conducting proactive patrols and roadside checks focused on detecting impaired drivers and ensuring drivers and passengers are using seatbelts or the proper child restraints.

Why we’re doubling up:

• Impaired drivers are more likely to cause serious or fatal collisions.
• Unbelted occupants are far more likely to be seriously injured or ejected in a crash.
• When these two risk factors combine, the results can be catastrophic, and entirely preventable.

Our message is simple:

👉 Don’t drive impaired. By drugs, alcohol or fatigue.
👉 Buckle up. Every person, every seat, every trip.
👉 Drivers are responsible for ensuring passengers under 16 are properly restrained.

Help us keep Nova Scotia roads safe as we enter National Impaired Driving Prevention Week.

Make the choice to drive sober. Make the choice to buckle up.
