Good morning, everyone! The Met Office is forecasting a bright and sunny day with light broken cloud throughout. Temperatures will range from 8 to 13 degrees C, accompanied by light and variable W winds.

Southern Water is carrying out urgent sewer repairs on York Avenue, East Cowes The road is closed between Connaught Road and John Nash Avenue and will continue so for the next 3 weeks.

There have been cancellations and delays to RF’s vehicle ferry this morning due to fog. This is currently the live status on the RF website:

Vehicle Ferry Service Status: 0930 from East Cowes cancelled due to earlier operational reasons, please check the timetable for alternate sailing times and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

All other island travel services appear to be running to schedule, as of 08.30 this morning, and there are no further reported problems with either our roads or traffic.

A PARTLY SUNNY MONDAY – 05/10/2026

Good morning, everyone! The Met Office is expecting a partly sunny day, with broken cloud throughout. Temperatures will range from 14 to 20 degrees C, accompanied by light WSW winds.

From the RF website:

We are pleased to confirm that our Vehicle Ferry has now resumed service however some delays of up to 60mins are to be expected to all booked vehicle traffic due to the earlier cancellations.

A reminder that Wootton Bridge will be closed outside Lakeside tonight (7.30pm-6am) for works to prolong the life of the London Plane tree. All businesses are accessible. (Via Island Roads)

FRIDAY 02/10/2026 - 3 DAY TEMPORARY RED JET TIMETABLE on 3-10-17/10/26

From the Red Funnel website:

As preventative work continues to our Red Jet berth in Southampton, it has been necessary to extend our temporary Saturday timetable until 17 October.

Saturday 3, 10 & 17 October
The following sailings have been withdrawn from service due to preventative work to our Red Jet berth in Southampton.
Depart Southampton: 13:15 | 17:20
Depart West Cowes: 13:50 | 17:55

All other timetabled sailings will depart as normal. During this time, we will continue to operate from our secondary berth for boarding and refuelling.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Due to essential maintenance required to the alternator onboard Red Jet 7, it has been necessary to cancel the following Red Jet sailings on Thursday 1 October:

Departing West Cowes: 12:05
Departing Southampton: 15:35

All other island travel services appear to be running to schedule, as of 08.15 this morning, and there are no further reported problems with either our roads or traffic.
