We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable individual with a strong background in transport operations who can lead, motivate, and develop a team while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on approach, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is keen to push the operation forward.

As Transport Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the depot, supporting operational performance, managing resources effectively, and working closely with wider teams to deliver excellent results.

This week we delivered a car full of toys to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

We hope they bring some smiles and a little Christmas magic to children spending Christmas in hospital .

A Day in the Life with Rachel Caiger! ✨

We’re excited to start a new series showing life behind the wheel at Abbey Logistics. Our drivers do a great job every week, making sure our customers get reliable and safe service.

→First up is Rachel Caiger, who has been driving with us in Middlewich for three years.

'I have been a lorry driver for six years. For three of them, I have been with Abbey Logistics as a Monday to Friday tramper. I find working at Abbey to be fun, with a wide variety of work and products.
Also, I find everyone is up for a laugh no matter where you work in the business. Everyone is very friendly and extremely helpful when it comes to advice on the job.'

Rachel starts her day early at 4am, and no two days are the same, from vehicle checks and loading at Liverpool Docks to deliveries around the UK. It's a mix of long drives and chats with customers, showing the flexibility, variety, and team spirit that come with the role at Abbey.

💜 It’s Menopause Awareness Month

In the world of logistics and transport, where long hours on the road and demanding schedules are the norm, menopause can present unique challenges that often go unspoken in the workplace. Yet, it affects many of our colleagues, impacting everything from focus and energy levels to overall wellbeing. This month serves as an important reminder to open up the conversation and ensure everyone feels supported.

With the help of our HR team, Abbey implemented a dedicated Menopause Policy and provided training for our managers in supporting team members navigating this transition. From adjusting shift patterns to providing resources for symptom management, we want to help everyone continue performing at their best!

Thank You for 66 Years of Service! 🙌

Last week we celebrated the retirement of two fantastic Abbey drivers, who between them have dedicated almost 70 years to the business.

They’ve been an important part of the Abbey and British Sugar teams, and we were proud to give them a proper send-off with special gifts, just a small way to say thank you for everything they’ve done for colleagues and customers.

On behalf of everyone at Abbey and British Sugar, thank you both for your dedication and the positive impact you’ve made over the years. You’ll be greatly missed, and we wish you all the best in your retirement!
