LEADERSHIP BLIND SPOT #3 🎯
The mistake of assuming everyone is motivated by the same things that motivated you.
One of the biggest mistakes leaders make is believing that what drove them to succeed should automatically motivate everyone else.
But times change. People change. Expectations change.
Today's employees aren't necessarily less ambitious or less committed. Many simply define success differently.
They want respect, opportunities to grow, meaningful work, and a healthy balance between their professional and personal lives.
The problem begins when leaders mistake different priorities for a lack of ambition.
Great leadership isn't about creating people who think exactly like you. It's about understanding what motivates individuals and bringing out their best.
This is one of the important themes explored in my leadership book: recognizing the blind spots that can quietly undermine even experienced leaders.
Because sometimes the biggest obstacle to becoming a better leader isn't what you don't know.
It's what you believe you already know.
