Plants are one of the most overlooked items in a move – and one of the most likely to arrive in bad shape if you don't plan ahead. 🌿

✅Start preparing 2–3 weeks before moving day:
Repot any plants that are in fragile or oversized containers into lightweight plastic pots. It's much safer to move them this way and reduces the risk of broken ceramic mid-transit.

✅A few days before:
Stop watering. Damp soil is heavier and can develop mould in a sealed environment. Slightly dry soil is safer for transportation.

✅On moving day:
- Wrap pots in newspaper or bubble wrap to protect them and prevent soil spillage
- Use open boxes or crates – plants need airflow, not sealed containers
- Never place heavy items on top of or around them
- Keep them in the cab or passenger area of a vehicle rather than in a dark, sealed van where possible

✅Temperature matters:
Avoid leaving plants in direct sun or in cold draughts during transport. Sudden temperature changes are one of the main reasons plants die after a move.

✅On arrival:
Unpack plants as early as possible and place them near natural light. Give them a little water and leave them to settle for a few days before moving them around. 🌱

They're more resilient than you think – they just need a little consideration.

What to measure before moving in:

✅Doorways and hallways
Measure the width and height of every door your large furniture needs to pass through – including internal doors and staircase turns. Don't forget to account for the diagonal when maneuvering large items around corners.

✅The rooms themselves
