We're excited to announce opportunities for a dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. With over 40 years of temperature-controlled transportation excellence, McLanachan Transport Ltd (MTL) is a trusted partner in UK and European logistics đźš›

➡️Position: HGV Class 1 Dayshift Driver. Mainly doing local shunting to help with our export operation, changeovers and delivering to local customers distribution centres/depots. Occasional tramping. Weekend overtime will also be available.

➡️Requirements: A valid HGV1 licence, Digital Tachograph card, and Full Driver CPC, with strong communication and customer service skills. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

After an incredible 40+ years with MTL, we’d like to wish Alister a very happy and well-earned retirement! 👏🚛

Ally has been part of the MTL story since the very beginning — in fact, even before MTL was officially MTL! Alongside our founder, Matt McLanachan, he spent countless years travelling the roads of Europe, helping to lay the foundations for the company we know today.

If you’ve ever worked at MTL or spent any time trucking around Europe over the years, there’s a good chance you’ll know Ally. Whether it was one of his questionable jokes, a story from his years on the road, or simply sharing some of his vast experience, he was always happy to have a chat and pass his knowledge on to the next generation of drivers.

In 2019, in recognition of his many years of service, loyalty and commitment to MTL, Ally was presented with his own registration, AL11 MTL. We’re delighted that it will remain part of the MTL fleet — a fitting reminder of someone who has played such a big part in the company’s history.

A massive thank you, Ally, for more than four decades of hard work, loyalty, laughs, stories and memories. You’ve been a huge part of MTL’s history, and you’ll certainly be missed around the place.

Enjoy your retirement, Ally — after 40+ years, you’ve definitely earned it! 🍻
