Price Increase effective Monday 21st September
Unfortunately it has got to the point where we can no longer absorb the various cost increases that have taken place recently and have had to increase our fares as a result. Nobody wants to be spending more, including ourselves, and I have kept our fares the same since we started nearly a year and a half ago, even through the start of the fuel price hike. As it slowly went back down there was a sigh of relief as we had held the prices and thought we could continue with them but, unfortunately, where the prices are now, they are far removed from the costs that these fares were based upon. I can only apologise; price rises are never welcome news and are a massive pressure on everyone, and so I am trying to remain at a level where the fares are “fair” all round.
For example:
Newton Stewart fares (up to 2 miles) will be £5
Newton Stewart to Creetown, Wigtown, and Kirkcowan will be £12
Newton Stewart to Barrhill Train Station will be £30
(Prices shown exclude any extras)
We are still open 8am until 10pm every day, with Saturdays until 2am, though bookings can also be organised outwith these times if required and we have availability.
And yes, sometimes it is really difficult to get us on the phone as there are only three of us, and can’t always answer each and every phone call that comes through when we are extremely busy. We strive to phone everyone back that has phoned, but again there are times that is made impossible too, for which I absolutely apologise, but we are not in a position to hire someone to answer phones at this time. Please bare with us as we grow and get ourselves into a better position to offer the absolute best service for the area.
And on that note, we are still looking for drivers……..someone who wants to go all in and join in an exciting world where you never quite know what is around the next corner, or someone who just wants to add a little extra to their income on a part time basis.
