David Lawrie, Director at S.A.F.E. Systems CCTV Limited, has been named as a judge for the Acorn Taxi Hero Award.

Run by Acorn Insurance, the UK’s largest taxi insurance specialist, the award celebrates the taxi and private hire drivers who make a difference in their local communities. There will be a winner in each of 11 UK regions and a national winner, from local legend to national hero. The national winner will receive a £1,000 Amazon gift card and a trophy, and each regional winner a £100 Amazon gift card. T&Cs apply.

“We see many awards that are primarily operator-focused and more internal to those companies. I’m excited to be judging this as an impartial judge, and I’m looking for drivers who really take pride in the work they do and the community they serve — drivers who go above and beyond without prompting or encouragement, simply because it’s the right thing to do.”

The judging panel brings together Acorn Insurance and voices from across the taxi and private hire trade, including NPHTA, Safe Systems CCTV Limited, PHTM, Colts Cabs and ONO.

Nominations are open until Midnight on the 4th October. Passengers, colleagues and drivers themselves can nominate at the Acorn Taxi Hero Award page.

Some might say "one allegation and you are off the road"

This is not the case, actions taken as a result of allegations vary very much and depend on the nature of the allegation.

Whilst some councils licensing departments may be understaffed, this does not mean they will take you off the road immediately at all, in fact quite the opposite, being understaffed is more likely to mean that it will take longer for the allegation to be seen, let alone acted on.

it is however the case that any time off work due to allegations, does result in lost earnings, it also means that legal support may be needed to help get your license back, which is far more expensive that installing the nations favourite and system.

Good afternoon drivers, here at Safesystems CCTV our product remains fully compliant with your local authorities conditions or requirements.
We have not been notified of any changes to those requirements nor have we been asked to make any changes in order to comply.
If we do make any upgrades to improve our system for your benefit then this is exactly what it is, a software upgrade which can be installed on your existing system.
This applies to any of our systems regardless of how old, also regardless of how many times you have had the need to exchange your vehicle on which case we simply remove it from your old vehicle and reinstall it in your new one.
We do this on purpose be ause when we talk about your protection we mean protection from everything including protecting your wallet.
So, we are happy to announce that you can exchange the system from one vehicle to another (removal and refit) as many times as you like.
Infact this is common practice for us here at Safesystems CCTV.

Our cctv system is fully adaptable and configurable to satisfy any councils requirements which is why we are approved by more councils than any other supplier, this also means its easy for us to make changes if any council should make any changes to their local requirements which up to now has not happened with your local authority which means your Safesystems CCTV device will always comply regardless of how old it is or how many vehicles it has been installed into.
