Social Media Ban for Under-16s? I'm All for It! 📲

Having two teenagers & two children under six, I'm fully supportive of this ban for under-16s.

We've seen how easily young people can spend hours scrolling, being exposed to inappropriate content, unrealistic "perfect lives" on social media, & sadly, online bullying.

I'm glad these measures are being considered before our youngest are old enough to access social media. Childhood passes quickly enough without the added pressures & expectations that social media can bring.

Although I support the idea, I do think it will be difficult to enforce. Many young people are already on these platforms, & there will always be ways for some to get around age restrictions by using false information.

However, if the majority of their peers aren't on social media, there's far less pressure to join in. Children are less likely to feel they're missing out, & it becomes much easier for parents to set boundaries.

Children should have the chance to enjoy being children for as long as possible ❤️
