J&B Travel started in 1983 by Jan & Eric “Budge” Lynn from the carpark of the Ringway Hotel in Horsforth. Budge already had his PSV license due to working at LCT (Leeds City Transport) as a bus driver. Jan & Budge soon realised that if coaches were available to transport their social club members on days out, sports or other social events it would be a great thing for the local community and their
families. Budge at the time was also coaching the Bramley Rugby League team.. Budge was a well-known character within the local rugby league community and he and Jan soon realised they would be able to offer transport service for local teams to attend away games. They started off with 1 vehicle in 1983 but by 1986 they had 4 coaches still running out of the car park at the Ringway Hotel. Skip forward to 1991 when they soon realised that passing trade thought the pub was full of coach passengers with there being the 4 coaches parked up of an evening. So it was decided at that point to take on new premises for the coaches on Low Hall Rd, Horsforth to run J&B Travel out from. In 1990 Paul (Jan & Budge’s eldest son) came into the business, working his way from the bottom up to becoming a driver in 1993. With the sad passing of Jan in 1996 Paul took the Transport Managers CPC exam and qualified, enabling him to help run the office along with Budge. Then as things got busier, to keep it in the family Pauls partner Tracey then joined the team. In 2010, due to now having 10 vehicles they needed new premises so moved to Pickup Business Park in Stanningley. So here we are with Paul now Managing Director along with Budge and J&B Travel now has 17 vehicles in the fleet
