Now then !

I’m back, Phil’s done an okay job covering for me whilst I’ve had other stuff to work on in the background but after some recent good news I’ve had I couldn’t help myself but jump back on the page.

There’s even plans for me to get back on the lottery again as that’s seems to of gone by the wayside a little … time goes no where !

We are still on the look out for one 4/4 tramper to fill a wagon up and in great need of some casual drivers due the amount of day / night shift work we now have.

So if you’re ready for a change now we’ve had our week of summer and you’re sick of getting wet everyday strapping and un strapping an old curtainsider or sick of the relentless cue at Heysham port and fancy some easy milk tanker work please give us a shout.

Work based from Morecambe, training will be provided.

Drivers will be expected to turn up to work on time, be able to manage their own time effectively, efficiently and of course legally. Be able to write there own timesheets and daily paperwork so we can read it and of course smile and enjoy the job!

Now then !

Due to new work, me buying more wagons and not selling any, a couple of transfers to the lower leagues 😂, and of course us being the premier family milk fraction haulier in the country we are in search of some top long distance driving talent !

No goal keeping, defending types need apply.

We need attacking midfielders, strikers, maybe the odd winger and people that want to actually work.

We don’t work set shifts like you would as a supermarket delivery driver or post man/woman.

We work to tacho regulations, some days will be easy and somedays will be tough. But we’re a transport company and that’s how it is sometimes.

We work from Scotland to Cornwall, Ireland and some Western Europe and everywhere in between on a regular basis. No two days will be the same.

We run mainly tankers with the very rare curtain or flat job for a local company.

The job is quite possibly the easiest job you will ever have, clean and generally bang on.

We are a family company and you will be tret as such, until you lose that right which is out of my control. Colleagues, managers, customers, owners the like are all equal and everyone is tret with the same level of respect.

Wages will be discussed and vary depending on shift so that’s why I’m not putting on here as I feel I’ve waffled on enough.

It comes with great pleasure to hand these new motors over to Chris Woods & Johnathan Preston and a big step for any family business especially in the current climate.

These motors will be set up to serve any of our customers in the dairy industry on long distance reload work, be it England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales. With a bit of Holland, Belgium, France and possibly a little bit further away but that remains undercover for now….

But there’s no reward without any risk and they do say get on or home, so here we are!

These are extra motors rather than replacements, new drivers & work coming on. Building things back up again slowly but surely.

Look out for them !

What a brilliant day out last week we had at the Daf Factory. Very impressive & professional, food was pretty good as well .

It’s just dawned on me that I’ve not been putting the lottery on !

Nov winner was Karl Morgan, Karl’s a long distance driver who’s not long since been with us and is yet to be captured by the camera, but has fit in very well to the team.

He’s won a turkey kindly sponsored by the one and only Mike Standen who’s a little annoyed as he had sold a turkey to Karl already 😂 !

Well it’s been a hellish hard couple of years past but we’ve had a brilliant year and are pushing forward .

It’s been a pleasure to be able to buy everyone at G&J Shuttleworth Ltd a proper meat hamper again for Christmas like we used to .

A testament to everyone here, our brilliant customer base and a perfect example of what pure grit and determination not to roll over and give up gets you in life .

The books nearly bursting for December and already looking at big plans for 2026 .
