🚛 Big Wins for Safety & Logistics! 🛣️

The Transport Ministry is revving up support for lorry operators who prioritize road safety! During the recent JoTran Seminar, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced exciting new perks for companies that achieve the ISO 39001 Road Traffic Safety Management certification.

Our very own PULSE Malaysia representative, Mr. Dato Naraja was in attendance to witness these landmark updates for the industry:

âś… Fast-Track Inspections: A dedicated special lane at Puspakom for ISO-certified operators (starting in Johor!).
✅ Less Red Tape: Exemption from JPJ’s Inspection and Safety Audit (JISA)—allowing JPJ to focus on non-compliant players while rewarding the pros.
âś… Financial Incentives: Ongoing talks with PIAM to explore higher NCD rates and special insurance discounts for certified operators.
âś… Permit Perks: Potential increases to the validity period of APAD permits.

A huge congratulations to the Johor Transport and Logistics Operators’ Association (JoTran) for leading the charge in safety excellence since 2024. PULSE is proud to stand with industry leaders pushing for a safer, more efficient transport ecosystem in Malaysia!

🛡️ Beyond Enforcement: Plugging the Diesel Leakages

While enforcement is ramping up, is it enough to stop diesel smuggling? Joshua Ravi, President of PULSE Malaysia, highlights that real-time tracking is the essential next step to protect our fuel subsidies.

The Core Issues:
• Price Gaps: Significant price differences with neighboring countries like Indonesia and the Philippines are fueling illicit diversions.
• Supply Chain Disruption: Smuggling creates unfair competition and depletes fuel at local stations, hurting legitimate transport operators.
• Porous Borders: Vast, difficult-to-monitor border areas remain a key vulnerability.

The Path Forward:
• Digital Monitoring: Implementing real-time tracking at petrol stations to ensure subsidies reach those who truly need them.
• Targeted Subsidies: Supporting the government’s move toward rationalization to improve supply stability and create a level playing field.

“Enforcement alone is not enough. We need better systems to ensure subsidies reach those who truly need them.” — Joshua Ravi

PULSE Malaysia: Our Voice Reaches the Ministry of Transport

PULSE Malaysia has achieved a major new milestone as our advocacy and insights have officially gained national media coverage. This recognition marks a turning point for our mission, as our perspectives are now directly reaching the Ministry of Transport (MOT).

Having our opinions published in the news ensures that the concerns and solutions we champion are part of the national conversation. It is a powerful validation that our voices are not just being heard, but are actively being considered by the policymakers shaping the future of Malaysia’s transport landscape.

Why this matters:
• Direct Impact: Our data-driven insights are now on the Ministry’s radar.
• Public Awareness: We are bringing critical transportation issues to the forefront of public discourse.
• Accountability: Media presence strengthens our role as a key stakeholder in policy development.

This achievement is a testament to the collective effort of our community. Together, we continue to drive progress for a better, more efficient transport system for all Malaysians.
