Here at 10 Tanker, we’re constantly seeing our fleet on nightly news stories across the nation. Needless to say, the demand for video footage of our tankers dropping red substance over an area engulfed in fire has not decreased. However, for some the age-old question "what is this red stuff?" rema...

Though, the impact air support has on wildfires is great, aircraft support alone does not put out a wildfire. Air support slows the spread of wildfires and allows ground resources time to engage directly. We owe a lot to the brave men and women on the ground. Here is an incredible shot taken by Noah Berger of a firefighter carrying what looks like 2 hoses while battling the "Glass Fire" in a Calistoga, Calif., vineyard, Oct. 1

On Oct 26th, 2020, Tanker 910 delivered 10 Tankers 11,000,000th gallon of retardant in the United States for this season. To put it into perspective the biggest year we’ve had was 2018 when we delivered 9.2 million gallons domestically, that now has become our second biggest year. This has been one of the harshest fire seasons we've seen, but the demands couldn’t have been met with a more capable team.

Fire's in northern Phoenix were keeping Tankers 910 & 914 yesterday. 55,966 gallons were dropped over the "Habanero Fire". Overnight, cooler temps helped decrease fire activity. Fire sits at 3,400 acres with 0% containment. Crews are currently working on securing containment lines on NW & E sides of fire to stop spread.

Currently, Tanker 914 has been actively working to bring down the “White Fire” in Kingman, AZ. Yesterday (Oct 12) fire crews secured 80% containment around the fire, making it a successful day in what would be called a difficult terrain to work in.

As fire season comes to an end, more and more fires are beginning to die down. California fires are also seeing a major improvement in containment percentage, with little to no growth in acres.

California’s landscape never ceases to amaze, this beautiful photo captured by professional photographer Chris Green truly shows that. As it stands the majority of fires in California both Northern and Southern have reached higher containment levels well above 60 - 70% as the main average. We are proud to have done our part to support the heroic efforts of the brave men and women fighting to contain these fires.

Astronics Enhanced Vision STC approved for aerial firefighting on DC-10 air tankers - Skies Mag

10 Tanker has been working behind the scenes with Astronics, a leading company on aerospace technologies. Becoming the first aerial firefighting tankers outfitted with their advance system the "Astronics Max-Viz EVS". This enables our pilots to see more precisely in adverse conditions, such as smoke, and dark clouded skies.

We see this not just as an advancement for our company, but a step forward for aerial firefighting as a whole.

Learn more about it here: https://www.skiesmag.com/press-releases/astronics-enhanced-vision-stc-approved-for-aerial-firefighting-on-dc-10-air-tankers/

In cooperation with AVIO dg and 10 Tanker, the Astronics Max-Viz Enhanced Vision System was installed in one of 10 Tanker's DC-10 aircraft, representing the first aerial firefighting tanker outfitted with the system.

10 Tanker hits a new company milestone

On Sunday Sep 27th, with the last flight of the day T-914 delivered a load to the Glass fire that put our North American total for the season past 10 million gallons of retardant delivered.

10 Tankers has had a very busy year, a year that really began last October with fires in California and went on to include our efforts in Australia. The pace never really stopped before returning home for the busiest fire season we’ve ever had. It’s never easy to keep that pace, but thanks to our pilots, maintenance crews, materials and office staff's hard work and dedication over the last 12 months, we've hit a new company milestone.

Although it’s not over by a long shot, we will continue to provide our best to serve the people on the ground fighting for their homes, property, and lives. Thank you all for your support.

As residents of Santa Rosa are forced to evacuate their homes, the "Glass Fire" continues to creep dangerously closer to their communities. The Chateau Boswell Winery, and 41-year-old Napa Valley mainstay, along with many other structures have already been consumed by the blaze. However, not one, not two, but three of our Tankers (911, 912, & 914) worked to contain the fire yesterday. Completing 13 missions and delivering over 122,200 gallons of retardant.

We will continue to update you as events unveil.

L.A County’s Largest Fire Ever!

As wildfires continue to burn in the Northern California region, the Southern region of the state faces similar tragic conditions, with the Bobcat Fire expanding through the Los Angeles County northeast of Los Angeles.

Now over 106,179 acres have burned with about 13% containment, Tankers 911, 912, & 914 have been diligently working to pin down the blaze and prevent it from becoming any larger since Sep 4th. Over 15 missions were completed on Sunday, Sep 19th, making a total of 148,627 gallons of retardant delivered over the San Gabriel Mountains & Angeles National Forest.

Cal Fire and the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that dry temperatures and windy conditions in addition to a heavy fuel load have enabled the fire to not only survive but continue to grow - making it one of the largest fires in Los Angeles history.

From Friday, Sep 4th, through Sep 21st, our fleet has completed 74 missions and delivered over 695,000 gallons of retardant. However, the fight still continues to save homes, forests, and wildlife in both Southern and Northern California. As always, we thank you for your support.

Tankers 912 & 914 have delivered over 272,600 gallons of retardant to the “Bobcat Fire” as of yesterday. The fire currently stands at 55,617 acres burned with about 10% containment, slowly advancing toward Antelope Valley California. Nearly 40 miles east of that the El Dorado Fire is almost contained, currently at 66% with 18,500 acres burned so far. Both Tankers 911 & 914 have been alternating, with over 14 missions completed.

It's a difficult time for Oregon locals, as fires continue to rage. Tankers 910 & 912 are currently fighting several fires in the state including the Alameda Fire in Medford, the Obenchain Fire, and South Obenchain Fire. As we continue our work to contain the blazes we will keep you informed.

Our thoughts go out to those effected.

10 TANKER AIR CARRIER incorporated in 2002 to research, develop and operate fixed wing jet aircraft for aerial firefighting. Our founders believed a higher standard of capability and safety could be brought to the industry by incorporating airline standards of maintenance and operations with modified jet transports. Four years of R&D and the investment of over thirty million dollars of private capital have produced a game-changing innovation: an aerial platform that contains a fire in a faster, safer and less expensive manner than any existing or planned Next Generation aircraft. Our Story

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bf2DM3EUuCE... I’d like to share with you my very first Facebook video. It’s a compilation of clips I put together showing 10 Tanker’s DC-10’s in action. I added some badass background music to it…. “T.N.T.” by the group AC/DC. I think the chorus of the song is especially fitting: “‘Cause I'm T.N.T., I'm dynamite T.N.T., and I'll win the fight T.N.T., I'm a power load T.N.T., watch me explode “ I hope you enjoy. Julia
Appreciate your skill and dedication in keeping us all safe. These two shots were taken yesterday at the fire near Ben Avery and Pioneer Rd, Phoenix. I have to tell you how impressive it is to stand below y'all as you pull up hard after one of the slurry drops. Stay safe.
