🏒 COACHES — WE NEED YOU! 🏒

The 2026–2027 hockey season is almost here, and we’re asking all of our coaches to get registered TODAY!

Every coach who plans to be on the ice must be properly registered with BOTH USA Hockey and AHA before stepping on the ice.

Please take a few minutes to get everything completed and make sure your USA Hockey requirements are up to date so you’re ready to go when the season starts.

Our programs simply don’t happen without our volunteer coaches. You give your time, energy, and knowledge to our players, and we are incredibly grateful for every one of you. 💚🤍

Today we’re giving a stick tap to all the hardworking parents, coaches, volunteers, officials, rink staff, and community members who help keep hockey going in Alpena. 💚🤍

AHA will be hosting a 16U Interest Skate for players born in 2010 and 2011!

📅 Thursday, September 3rd
⏰ 6:30 PM

If you plan on playing in the 16U age division this season, please make every effort to come out and skate!

There will also be an information meeting held either before or after the skate, so please plan accordingly.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone back at the rink and getting the 16U season rolling! 💚🤍🏒

Good luck to all of our AHA players, families, teachers and school staff heading back to school tomorrow!

Here’s to new classrooms, new adventures, seeing old friends and a great year ahead. Work hard, be kind, and bring that same teamwork you show at the rink into the classroom.

Get those skates sharpened! AHA preseason skates are back!

Skates are Monday 9/21 Tuesday 9/22 Monday 9/28 and Thursday 10/1

6U & 8U 5:30-6:20 PM
U10 and Up 6:30-7:20 PM

💲$15 per skate — pre-registration and payment required
⏱️ 50-minute skate sessions
⚠️ Space is limited!

🥅 Goalies skate FREE! No registration needed—goalies can simply show up for their appropriate age group.

A Note from our Board on the U8 and U10 divisions:

U8 & U10 Practice Schedule

With the strong number of players registered at our U8 and U10 levels this season, you may notice additional practice ice slots on the schedule.

These additional slots will allow us to break the players into smaller groups, creating more space on the ice, better coach-to-player interaction, and more opportunities for individual skill development.

Our goal is to create the best possible environment for our young players to learn, develop, and enjoy the game.

We’re excited to see such great participation at these levels and are looking forward to a great season!
