A friendly reminder that this week's public virtual hearing for the proposed Core Bus service adjustments have been canceled. MDOT MTA recently announced that Core Bus service adjustments proposed on September 1 will not be implemented. Core Local Bus and MobilityLink service will continue to operate on current schedules, while Commuter Bus and MARC service will begin operating at reduced levels on November 2. Those temporary reductions allow us to preserve our MARC train slots with CSX and Amtrak and our contracts with Commuter Bus providers. For updated Commuter Bus "S" and MARC Train "R" schedules, please visit https://mta.maryland.gov/coronavirus.

MDOT MTA would like to remind riders that due to required track maintenance, RailLink will restrict travel between North Linthicum and BWI Airport stations. Passengers will need to disembark at North Linthicum and board a free bus bridge or light rail train shuttle to BWI Airport. The bus bridge and train shuttle will transport riders from BWI Airport to North Linthicum, where they will board a northbound train for continued service. Patrons will experience 20 - 30-minute delays, and we are asking to please plan ahead for your travels to and from BWI Airport. Facing an unprecedented decline of transportation revenues due to the COVID-19 health emergency, MDOT MTA proposes service adjustments for MARC, Commuter Bus, and Local Bus, including discontinuing service, modifying route alignments, and service frequency. MDOT MTA will hold 10 virtual public hearings for Local Bus between October 5 and October 16 about the proposed changes as part of a 30-day public review and comment period that ends November 15. All written comments must be received through the official channels before the deadline to be considered. The proposal would go into effect on January 3, 2021. MDOT MTA has worked collaboratively with the Central Maryland Regional Transit Plan Commission, the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, and the public to develop a comprehensive 25-year vision for transit in the Central Maryland region. The Plan presents goals, objectives, and strategies to enhance transit service, support the economy, and reduce our environmental impact.
