My good friend, Ryan Vangelder, played in a local band that would frequently have a show at Ollie's. It's a great little spot. The very weekend that Ryan passed, he was out on the cart talking about how awesome Ollie's is and how we could get them more business. It's a shame to see it go, but this is a great opportunity to keep the local vision alive. If anyone can help, reach out to Ollies Pub- Records and Beer.
PLEASE READ AND SHARE, YES THIS IS ONE OF THOOOOSE POSTS. This is, in all likelihood the smallest needle in the largest haystacks chance, but I have given serious consideration to this and made a decision. Because this is about more than just me. As was previously announced, I am letting the lease end at the end of April. I no longer have the financial or physical ability to keep doing this as it currently stands. However, I have decided to enlist a broker to attempt to sell the business. This will mean one of two things, and for many reasons I prefer the first. Option one, I find a buyer who believes in the vision I have created, hopefully one with an actual liquor license, because it would make all this much more profitable, and wants to keep this dream alive. I fully believe in this place still, there has been consistent growth, but the world ending, and then swfl getting washed away, put me a full three years behind where we should be.
The second and much less appealing option is to liquidate the assets within the building, but it's better than just walking away with nothing
If you know anyone who knows anyone who might fit the bill for option one, please let me know asap, so we can talk and I can put them in touch with the broker I've hired.
Most of the places we do these sorts of things are in some form of crisis right now. And as much as I owe it to places like and and for being the places for these things before we existed, and countless other spots, we were the space primarily dedicated to live original local music. We've brought it consistently for over four years almost every weekend. My best estimate is well over four hundred shows. For a relatively small community the pool of talent is exceptional. I have been consistently amazed by how rich it truly is. And through all the adversity, always comes back together and has nurtured each new generation. I've been honored to watch it. This community deserves a place they can call home. A place where artists and supporters feel free to be their authentic selves and express themselves fearlessly. Who wants to take the reigns????
