Update: the two new vans added to our fleet are all ready to go but we are just waiting for them to be inspected by the city. Once they're inspected tomorrow or Wednesday, they will be serving our customers immediately. It's been a long and stressful road over the last month getting them ready but sacrificing to meet the needs of our customers is worth it.
This brings to mind one of the bright spots of new city rules that take effect on April 3rd. That bright spot is it will be easier and quicker for Nick's Cab to put new vehicles on the road to service our customers. We can't wait for less red tape!
Another bright spot will be that Nick's Cab will be lowering our non-contracted rates by a $1 or so per mile and we will not be charging any "surcharges" or extra charges for additional passengers. The safety and security and financial burden on our customers are subjects that weight on our minds and keep us motivated to provide a better service than yesterday.
Now with all of this said, we have made mistakes but we are working behind the scenes to change them and learn from our mistakes. Nicholas Hassinger, the owner, is taking more of a hands on role in driving customers and will be out in one of the cabs or shuttle vehicles on a daily basis meeting customers face to face. He will paying it forward by giving discounts, giving customers a voice, and showing them the support and love they deserve.
We look forward to serving the customers and citizens of Cedar Rapids and Iowa well into the future.
The entire Nick's Cab family!
