Allow me to vent for a moment, and also educate a little.
Most people see an oversized load and immediately think “inconvenience.”
What you don’t see is the reality behind it.
We spend days, sometimes weeks, on the road.
Missing time with our families. Missing important moments. Sleeping in our vehicles or wherever we can, just trying to keep moving and keep working.
What we’re moving isn’t random cargo.
It’s:
-Equipment that builds your homes and cities
- Steel that holds up your bridges
- Machinery that keeps industries running
- Transformers that power entire communities
- Medical and critical infrastructure components
Without these loads moving, a lot of what you rely on every day simply doesn’t happen.
We understand we slow you down.
We understand it can be frustrating.
What most people don’t understand is how dangerous this job actually is.
Every day we deal with:
- Drivers ignoring signals and safety zones
- People cutting in too close to the load
- Risky passes in tight or restricted areas
- Aggression from people who are in a hurry
Es**rt drivers are not just there for the truck.
We are there to protect the driver, the load, and everyone else on the road, including you.
Today was just one example.
I had a woman behind me flipping me off, throwing her hands in the air, screaming out her window—with a child in the vehicle.
She then made a dangerous pass, nearly causing an accident… just to get one mile ahead and sit in a coffee shop drive-thru line.
That’s the reality we deal with daily...
Before you honk.
Before you get angry.
Before you make that risky move, understand what’s actually happening.
We are not out there to inconvenience you.
We are out there because what we do matters.
We carry the pieces that keep cities running, hospitals functioning, and infrastructure standing.
We deal with stress, fatigue, and constant risk so that everything else can keep moving forward.
So the next time you see an oversized load
Don’t just see the delay.
See the purpose behind it.
