A little rain, a birthday, and back to business! 🌧️🎂🚛

It's been a few days since my last post, but sometimes life gives you a reason to slow down.

Yesterday, the Arizona rain kept us off the road, but it also happened to be my birthday! I got to spend part of the day with my son, which made the unexpected downtime that much better.

Today, it was right back to work with three loads and another opportunity to take care of our customers.

That's one of the things I appreciate about owning and operating my own business. Some days are long, some are unpredictable, and some remind you what's really important.

Family time yesterday. Freight moving today.

Another year older, another day on the road, and still grateful for every opportunity!

Three loads today—and somewhere in between, the mobile office opened for lunch. 😂

A lot of this business happens behind the wheel. Deliver, reload, secure, drive, repeat…and eventually find a few minutes to eat.

Today’s “office” included:
☕ Coffee
💧 Plenty of water
🥤 Protein fruit smoothie
🍗 Protein-packed lunch
🥔 And yes…chips. Because balance.

More equipment moved safely and another productive day for TKN Valley Transport.

Not every part of running a transportation business happens behind a desk. Sometimes the desk is the passenger seat and the lunchroom has a Cummins attached to it!

Six loads today—and a great way to finish the day.

The last delivery had me working alongside one of the Guardian Trench Safety drivers, and those are honestly some of my favorite jobs.

We may be driving different trucks, but we’re working toward the same goal: getting the equipment where it needs to be safely and efficiently.

There’s always something to learn from someone else’s experience, and there’s usually something you can do to make the other guy’s job a little easier too.
Learning from each other. Helping each other. Getting the job done.

Some days start a little earlier than others.

2:00 AM start this morning to pick up off rent equipment that was delivered a week ago near Kingman by 6:00 AM.

Made the run, got back to the yard—and found two more deliveries waiting.
Three loads. Three deliveries. One long day of keeping equipment moving where it needed to go.

That’s the job. Be available, stay flexible, and get it done.

A little Sunday recap from the end of the week.

Friday brought two deliveries, followed by more time working through the unexpected truck issue that showed up earlier in the week.

That’s part of running your own transportation business. Some days are about moving equipment. Some are about keeping your own equipment moving.
The deliveries got done, the problem was diagnosed, parts were sourced, and the repair work continued into the weekend.

Now it’s about getting everything ready for another week.
Deliver the load. Handle the problem. Keep moving forward.

Some days have unexpected events.

Called out at 11:00 this morning with a delivery that needed to be completed by 1:00 PM.
Delivery made. Deadline met. ✅

Then came the unexpected part — a check engine light shortly afterward.
Diagnosed the issue, located the needed parts, and expedited them so the repair can be handled tomorrow when they arrive.

That’s the nature of running equipment for a living. It’s not really a question of IF something mechanical will happen — it’s WHEN, and how quickly you respond when it does.

Weather always has consequences in this industry.

After things slowed down yesterday, we got a late afternoon call-out today for a quick delivery of shores.
Loaded up, secured, delivered and handled before the day was over.

Sometimes the schedule changes fast. We’re ready when it does.

One delivery today — but it was significant.

We made a run made out to Fort Mohave, AZ and back for a total of 450 miles.
Loaded, secured, delivered, and back home after a full day on the road.

Long-distance runs or local deliveries, the goal stays the same: dependable service and getting the equipment where it needs to go.

Closing out another solid week at TKN Valley Transport.

Thursday kept us moving with 3 deliveries and a pickup—including one more delivery that came in after lunch when we thought the day was already wrapped up.

Friday started quietly, then a late-morning call put us back to work for a pickup and finishing the day back at the yard getting preloaded and ready for an early Monday morning run toward Kingman.

Some days are planned. Some days the phone rings and the plan changes. Either way, we stay ready.

Thanks to Guardian Trench Safety for another busy week. Have a great weekend!
