Hello,

My name is Leath Bernhardt- Ragusa. I am the owner of the Friendswood Taxi Cab Service. This business was the dream of my father who was a 911 Paramedic and Ambulance Service owner in Brazoria, Galveston, and Harris Counties for over 30 years. When he retired in 2000 he quickly became bored and wanted something to do to occupy his time.

So he figured he already had the knowledge of the layout of almost all of Houston, Friendswood, Alvin, and the surrounding areas of Brazoria, Harris, and Galveston counties from all the years he worked in EMS so he figured instead of transporting people who were injured he would just provide service for those needing a lift somewhere. So this was how it began back in 2004.

He used his own car at first and made a little money. This was kinda like Uber or Lyft before they evolved. He created a web site and all of a sudden he had a small business of regular clients who lived in the area who needed transport.

As his business grew he decided he needed a better vehicle. So what better than an old used police cruiser. He purchased a Ford Crown Victoria that had been used in police patrol. The vehicle was in excellent condition and he put many more thousands of miles onto it before having to buy another. Soon he had several vehicles and more calls of service than he could handle himself.

That's where I come into the picture. I had been laid off form a Chemical Transportation Dispatcher job and desperately needed a job as I am a single mom. He quickly put me to work. I too had worked for him when he had his ambulance business and knew the streets well. This helped me made needed money and him build his business.

Sadly my father passed away suddenly and I became the owner of his business. I am now the sole owner and have tried to carry on my father's dream to the best of my ability. I hope I’m making him proud.

So if you ever need transportation please give me a call. I know there are a lot of choices out there now but most do not treat you professionally by giving you the personal treatment you deserve. I think of all my clients like family and treat them fairly and honestly. You are not just another fare or number like the newer social media pop up companies. I will be there when you need me and I am super dependable.
