Hey I just wanted to give everyone a little community update about how "business" has been. Two weeks ago today a wonderful bartender from Big Bucks Sports Bar & Grill Casino called me at 10:54pm to give a ride home to a mother and son who had enjoyed a couple of drinks and could no longer drive. This place is wonderful about taking care of their customers to make sure they get home safely, and also keeping everyone else in the community safe by keeping our roadways free from impaired drivers.
While I am extremely greatful for the sleep I have been able to get, a total of 13 days went by where I did not recieve a call for a sober ride home. Someone at the Glacier Park VFW Bar & Casino broke the streek last night! Thank you to the bartender who passed my information along!! The jail roster continued to stack up with DUI charge including someone who struck a car carrying four teenage girls. These girls were someones best friend, someones daughter, and someones family member, whose lives will be forever changed. There are gofund me links to support their long road to recovery as well as other local opportunities like at Hansons Hardware to donate.
The Silver Bullet Bar and Casino is hosting a fundraiser event this Friday and if you have the time to stop in and enjoy some good food and a frosty beverage. One of the bartenders contacted me and asked if I would be able to assist with transportation, but I have a surgery scheduled in Missoula that day so I could not make the commitment with the possibility of me being under the influence of pain medication.
If you decide to go out for a night on a town or know someone that is, please give Big Sky Sobriety Shuttle LLC. Or one of the other local transportation options a call before getting in your vehicle and driving home impaired to help this valley to not have to succumb to yet another tragedy. I dont want to shame anyone who drinks, but there is a way to do it responsibly.
