On October 15, 1937, TYS began a journey that would shape the future of air travel in our region. From the historic terminal pictured here to the bustling airport we know today, so much has changed in 89 years. But one thing has remained the same: our commitment to connecting people and places.
As we celebrate our past, we're even more excited about our future. With new destinations, growing opportunities, and exciting improvements on the horizon, the next chapter of McGhee Tyson Airport's story is already taking flight.
To the millions of passengers who have traveled through our doors, thank you for being part of our history and our future. Here's to 89 years of memories, milestones, and the many journeys still to come!
Happy Birthday, TYS! 🎂✈️
