Raw Cut is a satirical, psychological thriller in the mold
of a modern day Taxi Driver (1976) meets Network
(1976), that tastefully satires the self absorbed,
millennial generation through the art of guerilla-style
filmmaking. Cody Anderson and Shane Gladstone are film students who
want to change the world with their movies. They came up
with a new style of guerilla filmmaking, called “Wish
Fulfillment Movies(W.F.M.)”, that could potentially cure
those with anger issues, or those who suffer from suicidal or
homicidal ideation. Their theory states that acting out their emotions in
front of a camera and then observing themselves through
a cinematic platform, could help tame their mental
condition because their “wish” has been “fulfilled”. While some of their fellow peers applaud their
creativity, no one knows where their true motivation lies. These two share a common bond of deep seated
psychological issues themselves. Cody even has a
fantasy of becoming a liberation freedom fighter who
leads many in cult-like rebellions against the government. In order to tame their twisted ambitions, they’ve recorded
their thoughts in stories and stage plays, so they decided to
convert their first high school drama, “Lockdown In Room
302”, into a screenplay to use as their first “W.F.M.”
experiment to test their original theory. Unfortunately, before filming could begin, a video was
posted on the internet that revealed Shane's other darkest
secret, and the humiliation caused him to commit suicide. With each passing day and no other companion to confide
in, Cody's suppression builds and his urges begin to
consume him. Either act out his violent urges
in real life or release his suppressed feelings through the art
of film. He truly believes his movie could help exorcise his
demons, but he faces strong opposition from his family
members and former friends, who can’t offer their full
support when needed. If only they knew how many lives
they could save, if they would just help Cody finish his film. To learn more about a few of the characters from
