AI is reshaping trucking, an we're paying close attention.

Heavy Duty Trucking magazine breaks it down well in this piece: from back-office automation to predictive maintenance to cargo security, artificial intelligence is moving from buzzword to operational reality across the industry.

Here's our take on it:

There's real value in using technology to reduce repetitive tasks, improve response times, and catch things humans might miss at scale. We've seen how automation creates efficiency in logistics workflows, and we're not standing still on that front.

But in vehicle logistics, the stakes of getting it wrong are real. A move that falls through, a carrier that wasn't properly vetted, a client left without answers; no algorithm can fix that. What fixes that is a person who knows the account, knows the carrier, and knows how to make the call.

Our approach has always been to use technology to support the team, never to replace the judgment that comes from experience and relationships. The two aren't at odds. But the human piece has to lead.

This industry is evolving fast. The operations that will come out ahead are the ones who embrace the tools without losing what makes them good at what they do.

📖 Worth reading for anyone in trucking or fleet logistics:

Trucking’s biggest technology shifts in 2026 have one thing in common: artificial intelligence.

May 12–14 is DOT Inspection Blitz Week, 72 hours of rigorous CVSA inspections on commercial vehicles across North America.

It matters, because safer roads benefit everyone, but it also means:

• Tighter capacity as some drivers temporarily park
• Possible delays as inspections run their course
• Higher spot market rates with carrier supply down
• Disruptions to routing guide compliance, especially mid-range hauls
• Nationwide impact across carriers and shippers
• A gradual return to normal, with some lingering effects on capacity

Our team is already planning around it. If your transport is affected, we'll tell you before you have to ask, and we'll keep it moving.

After seeing Lego's new smart brick at CES, Lauren Fletcher imagines a Lego fleet truck where each "brick" is a plug-in for diagnostics, safety systems, GPS, weather detection... you name it.

We love her thinking here. It's playful, and it's a sharp lens on where connected fleet tech is headed. Building systems that are:

- Modular: easy to scale, update, or fix
- Smart: they flag problems before they cost you
- Connected: so dispatch, drivers, and customers stay in sync

Because when tech fails and delivery lags, vehicles sit and deadlines slip. That's why we focus on communication, so logistics feels simple, even when it isn't.

LEGO unveiled a SMART Brick at CES and it sparked a fleet nerd rabbit hole. What if work trucks were built like LEGO, with modular smart tech you can swap fast?

It’s International Fun at Work Day!

For this year’s annual team trip, we packed our bags, and our laptops, and headed to the Bahamas to soak up the sun ☀️

Yes, we swam with pigs 🐷
No, we didn’t miss a beat when it came to deliveries.

Because even on vacation, we don’t drop the ball... or the keys.
Here’s to having fun and getting it done.

The 2026 Fleet Forecast from Work Truck Magazine breaks down five major shifts shaping light- and medium-duty fleets this year, and the throughline across all of them is the same: the baseline for what "good" looks like keeps rising.

Data that drives decisions. Technology that integrates instead of adding more work. Partners who show up consistently, not just when it's convenient.

In vehicle logistics, we've seen what happens when any of those things break down. A fleet manager is on the hook to their customer, their customer is on the hook to theirs, and suddenly a delayed move isn't just an inconvenience. It's a relationship at risk.

The best thing we can offer in a year like this? Showing up the same way every single time. Fast, communicative, and fully accountable from pickup to delivery.

That's the standard 2026 is demanding, and we're here for it.

Automotive Fleet Magazine asked 11 fleet managers to describe their biggest challenges heading into 2026.

The answers weren't surprising, but they were clarifying.

One manager put it perfectly: "Fleet problems rarely arrive one at a time. They stack." Budget cuts. OEM delays. Compliance pressure. Data gaps... all hitting at once.

In that environment, vehicle transport should be the easy part. Who has the unit? When does it arrive? Is anyone reachable if something changes? Those questions should always have fast, clear answers.

Another thing that stood out: managers aren't just chasing the lowest bid anymore. They're prioritizing partners who actually deliver, on time, every time. Because a cheaper option that doesn't perform isn't cheaper at all.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to. When everything else in fleet ops is moving fast and pulling in different directions, we're the part that runs on time, communicates clearly, and never adds friction to an already full plate.

We love traveling with our pups and we know many of you do too. When you're logging long miles, pet safety matters just as much as vehicle safety.

Strong fleet-vendor relationships don’t happen by accident, they’re built on communication and trust.

In today’s high-pressure fleet environment, your transport partner isn’t just moving vehicles, they’re protecting your timelines, your reputation, and your customer relationships.

What strengthens a fleet partnership?

✔️ Clear, consistent communication
✔️ Fast response times
✔️ Realistic pricing, no surprises
✔️ Accountability when challenges arise
✔️ A true partner mindset

Fleet managers don’t need another automated system. They need a reliable team that picks up the phone, sets clear expectations, and gets it done right the first time.

Because when your transport partner makes your job easier, everyone wins.

Sometimes a weird idea shows up, something small, simple, maybe even a little out there. But when you stop and actually listen? It makes sense.

We’re not talking about some big corporate rollout. We’re talking about the kind of suggestions that come from the people in the grind every day.

If you’ve ever had one of those, this article from Work Truck is worth the click: https://www.worktruckonline.com/10249942/whats-your-fleets-potato

At Secured Transport, we don’t ignore those ideas. We ask what if it’s not dumb? And then we test it.

Some orders are taking longer. Everyone’s being a little more thoughtful.

But if you’ve been in this space long enough, you know, we’ve been here before. It’s part of the cycle.

And the ones who keep showing up, who stay consistent even when things aren’t moving at full speed, that’s who people trust when it ramps back up.

That’s how we operate. Always have!

Solid perspective from Automotive Fleet on staying grounded when things are in flux:

If every generation of fleet managers thought they had the worst problems, what makes ours any different?
