😆 Friday's Motivation 🤣

I-4 has never been completed.
It has simply entered another “temporary traffic pattern.” 🌴🚧💀

Orange cones breed overnight. Construction barrels appear in places that were perfectly normal yesterday. Entire exits vanish with zero emotional warning and suddenly you’re headed toward Daytona against your will. 😭

Every Floridian knows the ritual: • brake lights at 2 PM for absolutely no reason
• lanes narrowing like a social experiment
• one electronic sign saying “EXPECT DELAYS” as if there was ever another option
• and a GPS recalculating so aggressively it sounds personally offended.

Meanwhile somewhere nearby: • a tourist in a rental Altima just crossed four lanes at once
• a lifted truck is doing 91 through the work zone
• and a construction worker is holding a clipboard with the power of a minor deity.

You don’t ask when I-4 construction started.

You ask which era of construction you’re currently surviving.

Because every Floridian understands: I-4 is not a road. It is an ongoing statewide endurance event disguised as infrastructure. 🚗💀

The exits are confusing. The lane markings are theoretical. And somehow the traffic gets worse the exact second rain appears in the distance.

Be like I-4.

As of Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has launched its annual 72-hour high-volume inspection blitz across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

🚨 The 2026 Blitz Details

✅ Duration: May 12 – May 14, 2026.

✅ Intensity: Certified inspectors are expected to conduct an average of 15 inspections per minute across North America.

🚨 Main Focus Areas:

✅ Driver: Electronic Logging Device (ELD) tampering and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance.

🚨 Vehicle: Cargo securement (ensuring loads are properly tied down, blocked, and braced).

✅ What to Expect During Inspections
Most stops will involve a Level I Inspection, which is a 37-step process covering both the driver and the vehicle.

🚨 What They Are Checking

✅ Driver Side: CDL validity, Medical Examiner’s Certificate, HOS records (ELD), seat belt usage, and status in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. |

✅ Vehicle Side: Brake systems, tires/wheels, lighting, fuel/exhaust systems, steering, and suspension.

🚨FMCSA Removes Three ELDs from Registered List 🚨

Today, FMCSA removed three Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) from its list of approved devices for use in commercial motor vehicles.

“Since January 2025, FMCSA has taken decisive action - removing 67 noncompliant devices that failed to meet federal standards - to protect the integrity of the ELD program, and we will continue to identify and remove any device that falls short,” said FMCSA Administrator Derek D. Barrs

Drivers using the revoked ELD must switch to paper logs immediately. Motor carriers have 60 days to replace the device.

Lovebug season is here Florida! It peaks in May with another round in September. I've already had dozens at my house!

They're called lovebugs because they're attached to each other so the male can prevent other males from mating with her. The female is in charge though and the larger of the two. Because she is bigger and stronger, she actually dictates where they fly, dragging the smaller male along for the ride.

The adult lifespan is only about 3 to 4 days and after they detach, the male dies almost immediately. They are attracted to highways and are drawn to the heat of the asphalt and the vibrations of cars, but mostly they are attracted to a vehicle's exhaust. If they get smashed on your windshield or bumper and are left to bake in the Florida sun, their acidic remains will literally etch into your car's clear coat and paint.

Lastly, no, they were not created in a lab. Urban legend. They came from Central America!
