The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) held a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, to present and discuss the scope and expectations regarding the elimination of DC Streetcar service, which will end on March 31, 2026. Following this date, the DC Streetcar will no longer operate. Riders are encouraged to plan and explore alternate travel options. The recording of the public meeting is now available. Hey riders! The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will adjust DC Streetcar service hours on Monday, November 24, 2025, to accommodate scheduled signal work at H Street NE & 14th Street NE.

On this date, DC Streetcar service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will close at its normal time of 12 a.m.(midnight). Regular operating hours will resume following the completion of this work.

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will host a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 1 - 2 p.m. to discuss DC Streetcar’s service reduction schedule and planned end of service.

DDOT will provide an overview of the decision to phase out DC Streetcar operations, including the timeline for service reduction and the final date of operation.

Community members are encouraged to attend and ask questions. Input from riders, residents, and businesses will help guide DDOT’s efforts to maintain accessible, reliable, and connected transportation across the District.
