LOCAL TRUCK DRIVERS IN HOUSTON, 20% OF LOAD. HOME MOST NIGHTS
We are looking for experienced truck drivers with an active TWIC card to pull containers. Pull and delivery are both local to the Houston area.
Responsibilities
- Transport containers from Port to Receiver
- Drivers will have to locate correct size container and chassis for each container
- Document and log pulled containers each day
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Skills
- MUST have or willing to obtain a TWIC (this is not negotiable)
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD, etc)
- Ability to work up to 10 hours each day
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid Class A commercial driving license (non negotiable)
