We are looking for experienced CDL drivers for local and OTR to Join our Team. We have competitive Pay and flexible scheduling.
**position start date is October 17th 2022**
Position drives a tractor/trailer truck to make long-distance pick-ups and deliveries. Most are drop and hooks. Position obtains proper authorization for all deliveries/pick-ups. Inspects vehicle for safe operating conditions before/after each trip. Must maintain a DOT driver's log and adhere to all DOT regulations. Position could require multiple nights away, sleeping in sleeper cabs. May require driving in adverse weather conditions. Position requires CDL license. Position requires some manual labor like working tractor/trailer components, including bending and cranking landing gear as well as climbing in and out of cabs and sitting for extended periods of time.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• 21 years or older
• Pass DOT physical and DOT Road Test
• Valid Class A CDL license
(endorsements welcomed but not necessary)
• Follow DOT Regulations/ Pass Drug Screening
• Driving: 1 year (Required)
• Work authorization (Required)

Responsibilities
• Deliver finished products to assigned destination
• Ensure safety and compliance of load
• Maintain DOT driver log and other required transport documentation
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance
• Secure with load locks and straps. Check for seal and BOL numbers matched
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
meet delivery schedules Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures�*
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, ELD, AVL units, CB, etc)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
• Operating trucks requiring a CDL Class A license (e.g., driving forwards, driving backwards, maneuvering in tight spaces, dropping and hooking, operating landing gear, backing into docks and confined spaces, etc.)
• Hauling consumer products and perishable consumer goods (e.g., transporting unstable loads, hauling different weights on different trip segments, etc.)
• Operating a tractor-trailer in different conditions (e.g., highway driving, side/local roads, city/country, maneuvering in tight spaces, etc.)
All Employee's are 1099 until the first year. Full benefits are offered after a consistent year of working with Brent Transportation.
