TRUE INDEPENDENCE: A CALL FOR PATRIOTISM AND UNITY.

As Zambia celebrates its 60th Independence today, we must take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of freedom. Independence is not just about breaking the chains of colonial rule; it’s about embracing the responsibility to build a united, progressive, and harmonious nation.

For too long, we have allowed disunity, jealousy, and hatred to define us. We have become our own worst enemies, failing to support one another and failing to demonstrate love and pride for our country. But true independence demands more from us. It calls for patriotism—a deep love for Zambia, where we are willing to work selflessly for its development.

True independence is about unity, where we stand together, regardless of tribe, status, or political affiliation, with a shared vision of uplifting our country. It is about living for one another, ensuring that every member of society benefits from the opportunities available in education, healthcare, agriculture, business, and all other sectors.

We must reject the attitudes of jealousy and division that have held us back. Instead, we must adopt the spirit of compassion, cooperation, and patriotism that will drive us forward. Let us be proud of Zambia and work towards a future where every Zambian can thrive, knowing that their country supports them, and they are part of a larger purpose—building a nation for all.
