This week we farewell two true Ballina Buslines workhorses — buses 127 & 129, the last of the Mercedes-Benz 0405NH model still running in the region. 🚌

For years these buses were a familiar sight across Ballina, Lismore and the surrounding Northern Rivers communities, carrying countless passengers through daily life, school runs, shopping trips and everything in between. They’ve seen floods, changing times and generations of travellers, all while faithfully serving the roads they called home.

This video captures a final look at these iconic buses around the Ballina and Lismore areas where they spent most of their working lives. A fitting tribute to the end of an era for the NH fleet in the Northern Rivers.

Thank you 127 & 129 for the memories, the miles travelled, and your years of loyal service. ❤️🚌

SERVICE UPDATE 3.10pm Thursday 14th May 2026

661 will resume normal services as the Bruxner Hway has reopened. There may be service delays until roads resume to normal speeds

📢 Service Update – Route 661 - Thursday 14th May 2026

Due to a closure on the Bruxner Highway at Wollongbar, the 661 bus service is currently diverting via Ellis Rd and Rous Rd into Goonellabah.

During this period, we are unable to service Wollongbar.

Passengers are advised to use BConx services to travel to the Alstonville Bus Stop, where you can board the 661 service as usual.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding while this disruption is in place
