Important business update:
Hi my wonderful people 🦊 Voksy here, as many of you know I suffer from ASD and also complex post traumatic stress disorder from assault in 2015.
Shortly after becoming homeless, on 21st March 2022 I was approved for disability support pension. This was the biggest lifesaver for me, it allowed me to continue a safe and peaceful existence either homeless or couch surfing.
Before this, I was approved for the NDIS on 31st January 2022. At the time, I lived a simple existence living on-site at a business I worked at for many years, owed to the generosity of my old boss.
Homelessness journey saw me bounce from there to Leichardt (Bendigo), to Castlemaine where I live with a lovely gentleman named Mr Max (who I owe his generosity and support for me starting Flying Fox Chauffeur).
My business has grown from the support of my passengers leaving reviews on Google, recommending me to friends and family, while I navigated a new, scary world of being a chauffeur. I aimed for excellence, and I wanted it to be the kind of service I would feel comfortable and safe using.
As my business grew, so did my need for support. Chronic fatigue, brain fog, feeling like I had barbed wire lodged in the core of my brain while my nervous system feels like 2,000 volts is hooked up to it. I am in significant pain as a result of stress and I am stressed by admin — particularly calendar management, calculation of travel time or custom trips. My phenomenal support workers Dave and Suzanne were by my side as the pain grew stronger in correlation to my business.
Right now the Flying Fox is under threat as my NDIS funding was cut significantly from what I was utilising. Their reasoning was that I am clearly healed and able to run a business, therefore I don’t need their help. I love optimism, only when met with an equal dose of realism…
We have requested a review of this decision, but knowing the history of NDIS reviews, this effort is futile. The next step would be pursuing the Administrative Review Tribunal but this would take one year from when the NDIS review my request for a review. — I am looking at my options for continuing this business and I may need to reduce my capacity.

I’m assessing my options right now.. I don’t know what the future looks like for Flying Fox, I just know I don’t want to sacrifice the care and attentiveness to detail that sets me well above my competition. I do fu***ng great work despite the mental conditions I fight against every day.
