This is what it is like trying to get across Murray Rd to catch the 526 bus. We need pedestrian refuges and at least another pedestrian crossing. Reducing the lanes and the speed limit would help a lot.

With so many suburban and regional town buses offering inadequate services on the weekends, we're calling for Sunday timetables to be scrapped, upgraded to Saturday - to ensure more 7 day routes - and for key routes to have improved frequencies. https://www.busnews.com.au/ptua-frequent-bus-services-election-2026/

🚨SIGN THE SAFER MURRAY RD PETITION CLOSING 11.59PM MONDAY NIGHT!
526 Bus users need a Safer Murray Road.

The much needed bus stop at Connolly Ave (Outlook Rd end) was smashed and is not being replaced. Several others have been repeatedly crashed in to - one a particularly horrific incident.

Yep…

Many public transport timetables are written as though nobody wants to travel on Sundays. Some routes don't even run.
In truth, travel demand is similar to Saturdays. More routes running on Sundays, and running more often means more people can use the network seven days-a-week.

NEWS: The Victorian Auditor General has released a report on the state government's performance with regards to bus service improvement and the Bus Plan.

The generally critical report found that performance measures could be improved, said the Department was unlikely to achieve Bus Plan objectives and was not transparent in its reporting of Bus Plan progress. DTP has only partly accepted the recommendations.

Pre-state budget and before the exciting funding announcement (🚌!!!), the Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan came out and interviewed some of us 526 bus campaigners, along with Anthony Cianflone MP and Nathan Lambert MP!

Great post by Coburg High School and look at those sustainable transport numbers (which include bus travel)! 🙌🏼

🚌 🎉 It was wonderful to share the moment of the exciting 526 bus announcement with Principal Brent!

As we said at the time, walking to the media conference on Tuesday morning we saw a bunch of about 15 Coburg High School students alight from the 526!
Students will be greatly benefitted by the funded increased service frequency!
And by the later service so they can get home from jobs and sport etc.
