Just in time for Christmas!

Liam passed his RPL test today with examiner Bob to finish off what has been a very deliberate and focussed effort to become a pilot before the end of the year. This is yet another example of what can be achieved in our Fast Track Pilot program.

Sureflight Australia and Smartair have both contributed to the growth of general aviation at Albury Airport over many years, each operating independently in-flight training and air-transport services.

Smartair has recently come under new management, now part of 5X Aviation, and has been established with the goal of strengthening and expanding regional aviation capability in Albury and beyond.

In line with this vision, and following discussions between both businesses, Sureflight will be transitioning its operations, with Smartair continuing to deliver services to existing students and clients - ensuring continuity of training and charter services into the future.

Smartair will be welcoming several of Sureflight’s staff and clients into the merged organisation. This alignment ensures that the experience and dedication built over many years at Sureflight continue to benefit the local aviation community.

This transition represents a positive step forward - bringing together experienced people and resources under one operation to strengthen and expand flight training and air-transport services at Albury Airport.

Current operations at Sureflight will continue up until Christmas when our team will take a well-deserved break, refreshed and ready to embark on the new aviation chapter with Smartair / 5X Aviation in early January 2026.

We look forward to working alongside the Smartair team and customers as we forge a stronger future for regional aviation in Albury.

Another BizJet (Gulfstream) was dispatched by Sureflight Australia yesterday.

Our team regularly host large aircarft, their crew, and passangers to make their arrival and departure from Albury as seamless as possible.

On occasion, we even expedite movement for medical organ retrieval teams that help save lives across the country.

Crew often remark on the hospitality of our team and the region, and some have taken to sending back selfies from around the world with Surefire merch.

Yep, that's our former beloved Cherokee, VH-BUN, that served so many aspiring pilots well in their journey to their pilots licence with us here at Sureflight.

BUN was sent north to another flight school by the owner 4 months ago.

It does demonstrate the need for constant training in forced landing techniques for a successful landing with only minor injuries.

Unfortunately, this will be the last time "Bunny" takes to the skies.
