Our new community campaign celebrates the patience and courtesy that many Tasmanians already show on our roads every day and highlights the small acts of consideration that help everyone get where they need to go.

Every Metro bus carries people on their way to work, school, appointments, community activities and home. When road users slow down, give buses room to safely re-enter traffic or take extra care around bus stops, they're helping the people on board continue their journey.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at this week's launch, including our CEO Jessica Paton and RACT Group CEO Mark Mugnaioni, for helping share this important message.

Most of all, thank you to the Tasmanians who already show patience, courtesy and respect around our buses every day.

Keep an eye out for our little courtesy stories on buses, billboards, radio and social media over the coming weeks.

Today, Metro launched 'A little courtesy keeps Tassie moving,' a community campaign celebrating the patience and courtesy that many Tasmanians already show on our roads and around buses every day.

As more Tasmanians choose to travel by bus, the campaign highlights the small acts of consideration from other road users that help everyone on a Metro bus get where they need to go, whether that's work, school, appointments, community activities or home.

Launched by Metro CEO Jess Paton alongside RACT Group CEO Mark Mugnaioni, the campaign focuses on the people behind every bus journey and the role we all play in helping keep Tasmania moving.

Through a positive, community-focused message, the campaign recognises the courtesy already shown by many road users and encourages those behaviours to continue.

Thank you to RACT, Motor Accidents Insurance Board - MAIB, Tasmania Football Club and our other supporters for helping share this important community message.

🚌 Each day, Metro buses help Tasmanian kids get to class. 🚌

When you slow down and give a Metro bus room to move, you help them get there safely.

Thanks for slowing down and letting our buses merge back in.

A little courtesy keeps Tassie moving. ☺️

---

Due to the below road closure, Metro services travelling through the area are currently being diverted.

Inbound services will travel via Main Road, or through Goodwood via Acton Crescent and Gepp Parade.

Route 560 inbound will complete the Goodwood loop before travelling from Renfrew Circle via Acton Crescent, Gepp Parade and Derwent Park Road, returning to the Brooker Highway and normal route.

Four bus stops along the Brooker Highway will be missed inbound while the closure remains in place.

Significant delays are expected due to the incident involving a power pole. Please allow extra travel time.

Brooker Highway at Goodwood is now open following the earlier incident.

__________

**Updated @ 4.25pm:

The Brooker Highway is currently closed between Lampton Avenue and Howard Road, for motorists travelling in both directions.

Motorists are asked to take an alternate route, or obey diversions in place and anticipate delays.

The road is closed while a power pole damaged in an earlier crash is repaired.

__________

Earlier:

Police are at the scene of a single vehicle crash on Brooker Highway at Goodwood.
