Sunshine Coast Ad-Blue

Sunshine Coast Ad-Blue Maroochydore based mobile supplier of high quality AdBlue who specialize in prompt bulk deliveries It also meets DIN70070 and CEFIC standards.

Sunshine Coast Ad-Blue
Our service covers many sunshine coast concrete plants such as Holcim, Hytec, and we delivered the Ad-blue door to door. AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid used in modern trucks that have a selective catalytic reduction system. Using AdBlue in line with manufacturers' requirements and a catalytic converter reduces the level of oxides of nitrogen emitted from engines. AdBlue is manufactured to meet ISO quality standards 22241-1, 2, 3 and 4.

What are urea and AdBlue !!

What is AdBlue made of? AdBlue® is made of a colourless mixture of high-purity urea (32.5%) and deionised water (67.5%), as set out in the ISO 22242 standard. Urea contains ammonia; the active ingredient in AdBlue® that reacts with NOx and neutralises it before it enters the atmosphere

What is it?
Urea is a handy, naturally occurring chemical compound – CO(NH2)2, also known as carbamide – that is found in mammalian urine, among other places.
Since 1828, when the German chemist Friedrich Wohler developed a process to synthesise the compound, urea has also been produced in bulk for human uses.
These include as an agricultural fertiliser, but also to reduce nitrous oxides produced in combustion engines.

What affects the price of AdBlue?
The main feedstock for the world’s urea production is gas, which is first converted to ammonia under high temperatures and pressure, and then into liquid urea.

Fertilizer prices rose in response to the war in Ukraine, reflecting the impact of economic sanctions and disruptions in Black Sea trading routes. Russia accounts for about 16% of global urea exports and 12% of DAP and MAP exports, while Russia and Belarus together make up two-fifths of global MOP exports. Adding to supply concerns, China has suspended exports of fertilizers until at least June 2022 to ensure domestic availability.

Urea prices are expected to remain at historically high levels for as long as natural gas and coal prices remain elevated. Similarly, DAP prices are projected to remain high until ammonia and sulfur prices ease. Apart from input costs, risks to the outlook depend on whether China’s urea and DAP exports will resume after June.

Australia has significantly boosted supplies of a diesel exhaust fuel vital to keeping the country’s freight and logistics sectors on track.

After striking up an agreement with the federal government, fertiliser manufacturer Incitec Pivot has increased the local production of AdBlue by 800 per cent to address a domestic shortage.

Mr Taylor said on Monday the fertiliser manufacturer would soon begin trialling the production of technical-grade urea with an additive sourced from Germany.

Why is there a shortage?
A supply crunch of another product is causing the AdBlue problems.

Globally, stocks of the key ingredient, urea, are running dangerously low.

China is the world's biggest producer of urea and in recent weeks has been moving to dramatically tighten its grip on supplies to keep a lid on surging prices.

That's hit Australia particularly hard given we source up to 80 per cent of our urea supplies from the Middle Kingdom.

National Road Transport Association chief Warren Clark said there were a few theories about what drove China's actions, but the most likely one was self-interest.

"We've heard things like the cost of fertiliser in China has internally gone up dramatically and a large portion of that is urea," he told the ABC recently.

"So what they've said is that they do not want to export any urea to try and keep the price of local fertiliser down.

"It may be that there's some sort of trade issue that they've got with other countries around the world.

"It's not just Australia that's being impacted by this, you know — the whole world is going to be impacted by the lack of this AdBlue chemical."

Morrison government sets up taskforce on AdBlue shortage

As industry and government continue to engage in consultation over a fears of an upcoming AdBlue shortage with current estimates of around five weeks (15 million litres) supply currently on hand in Australia with more on the way according to the office of Minister for Industry, Angus Taylor has announced the establishment of an AdBlue taskforce

AdBlue is a trading name that has gone into common vernacular, like Hoover and Kleenex. A more common name is diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), which enables that process called selective catalytic reduction. In particular, it targets your exhaust's nitrogen oxide (NOx) content and looks to reduce it.

Essentially, a bunch of sensors in your exhaust system monitor the contents of your exhaust gasses. When required, a spray of DEF is injected into the exhaust system.

Diesel engines can be run with a lean burn air-to-fuel ratio (overstoichiometric ratio), to ensure the full combustion of soot and to prevent their exhausting unburnt fuel. The excess air necessarily leads to generation of NO
x, which are harmful pollutants, from the nitrogen in the air. SCR is used to reduce the amount of NO
x released into the atmosphere. DEF from a separate tank is injected into the exhaust pipeline. Within the SCR catalyst, the NO
x are reduced by the ammonia into water and nitrogen, which are both non-polluting. The water and nitrogen are then released into the atmosphere through the exhaust.[5]

The injection rate of DEF into the exhaust depends on the specific after-treatment system, but is typically 2–6% of diesel consumption volume. This low dosing rate ensures long fluid refill intervals and minimizes the tank's size (and intrusion into vehicle packaging space). An electronic control unit adjusts the addition of fluid in accordance with such parameters as engine operating temperature and speed.
