Hi,

Letting you know that as of 24 May I will no longer be driving with Shebah.

I have truly loved every trip with my Shebah passengers, but it's time for me to move on to something new.

Adelaide's other Shebah drivers, Sharon and Esther, will be taking as many trips as they can, but please understand that they already have regulars on most days which may clash with your needs.

If you, or someone you know, has been considering becoming a Shebah driver I'm happy to give you a hand to understand how it works - and as you know, Shebah always needs new drivers.

We all love the current Adelaide Airport terminal. But have you ever wondered about S.A.'s aviation history?

On this day in 1955 Adelaide Airport received its first commercial flight (from Perth), the new site replacing Parafield. Adelaide’s first Airport was at Hendon, on the former Phillips site. (Photo: airwaysmuseum.com)
By 1941 the State’s aviation needs had outgrown the Parafield airfield. The West Torrens site, also known as West Beach, was chosen for Adelaide Airport.
Work on the new airport began in 1947 with flights commencing in 1954 and the first regular transport services in February 1955. Interestingly, the first passenger terminal was a lean-to on one of the large hangars at the airport. It was not until 1957 that the Commonwealth funded and built what was designed originally as a temporary passenger terminal, however its use for domestic and regional traffic continued until October 2005.

I drive around the Hills a LOT, and you'd be safe in thinking that I have a bunch to say about transport in the area.
This morning I met with the Mount Barker/ Adelaide Hills Transport Study team to share what I think about our local issues.
You can drop in to visit them, or do the online survey.
Remember, their decisions will be based on what we say.

I picked up a lady from the airport recently for a drive of about 40 minutes.

Without meaning to, we spent at least half the trip swapping funny breastfeeding stories.

Do not try this with any other rideshare service! 😳

Shebah is an "All Women" rideshare service. Drivers are all women. Passengers are women, unaccompanied children, families, and kids in baby or booster seats who need to bring dad along.

We do safety.
We do The Wiggles.
We do female friendly.
Even if that means discussing breastfeeding in a safe and comfortable environment on your way home from the airport.

Use the Shebah app to book your trip up to two weeks in advance.

I drive so many kilometres every week that these guys have become my best friends. They keep my car in perfect condition.

New tyres a few weeks ago. Tyre health check to follow up, and today it's time for a regular logbook service.

I'm off to the pageant first thing in the morning with a car full of exited kids, and a mum who's glad she doesn't have to find a park and walk for miles.
