Kings Transport is proud to support the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator's 'We All Need Space' campaign, which has just welcomed Rugby League legend Sam Thaiday as its fifth and final face 🏉

Obstruction on the field can cost you the game, but it can cost so much more out on the roads.

Sam now joins a prestigious lineup of campaign talent, including comedian Jimmy Rees, Outback Truckers legend Glenn Kendall, Australian country music star James Blundell, and SA second-generation truckie CJ.

At Kings Transport, we're committed to promoting road safety and commend the efforts of the NHVR in executing these campaigns for the general public.

Together, let's create safer roads and raise awareness of the importance of giving trucks the space they need to operate safely.

This week we caught up with Kasia Durys to learn a little bit about her and her role at Kings for our monthly Meet the Team segment! 💫

Q1. What's your current role at Kings Kasia, and is this different to what you started off doing at Kings?

My current role at Kings is Operational Performance Manager for Victoria. When I started in 2004 I was working in the Call Center as a Customer Service Representative.

Q2. What do you enjoy the most about working at Kings?

I enjoy working with my team and engaging with customers. Every day is different, Kings is a great place for Employee Reward and Recognition.

Q3. Can you describe a particularly challenging project or task you've worked on at Kings, and how you overcome those challenges?

The most challenging project I've worked on was transitioning manual (phone) bookings to online, which was part of my Lean Six Sigma assignment.

I received weekly coaching sessions and participated in project workshops, which helped to overcome some of the challenges. As a result, 90% of our customers are now booking online.

Q4. How have you seen Kings Transport evolve since you’ve been here regarding technology, safety, or other areas?

Kings have definitely evolved in terms of technology since I've started. Back in the day, we used handheld radios to communicate with the drivers and send them daily jobs. Nowadays, we use the Job Master app for sending jobs across and communicating with the drivers.

Another good example is the introduction of Electric Vehicles across a few of our major contracts.

Q5. What advice would you give to someone just starting out in their career at Kings Transport or the logistics industry in general?

It's a great industry to work in. Try to learn as much as you can and don't be afraid of challenges. There's always an opportunity to grow.

Q6. What are your interests or hobbies outside of work at Kings?

I love spending time with my family; we do a lot of day trips (when the weather is nice)

Recently, my husband bought me a dirt bike (yep, who knew I could ride one-lol ). I'm only a beginner, but so far, it's been lots of fun. Who knows, I could be the next Chad Reed!

Leaders in our company like Kasia drive us forward every day and help ensure Kings remains at the forefront of the industry in service for our clients and as a great place to build a career. 🙌

In partnership with Greenfleet, we're proud to announce some noteworthy milestones for the year! 🌳

We have offset 2,224 tonnes of carbon emissions, a figure that equates to taking 517 cars off the road or offsetting the carbon footprint of 162 average Australian households for an entire year!

These efforts are part of our lifetime achievement of offsetting 27,436 tonnes, comparable to removing 6,380 cars off the road and offsetting the emissions of 2,002 households. 💪

We understand that sustainability is a journey, not a destination.

That's why these numbers aren't just statistics for us; they're proof of our unwavering commitment to responsible business practices and environmental stewardship in the industry.

It's that time of the month again when we get to catch up with some of the Kings Team! This month, we met Adrian Pannella to ask him some questions about his time at Kings.

Q.)What's your current role at Kings, and is this different to what you started off doing at Kings?

My current role at Kings is the operation manager for Sigma & Fisher & Paykel. I started Kings in 2008 at building logistics management (BLM) as the operations manager looking after 5 commercial office towers in the CBD.

Q.)What do you enjoy the most about working at Kings?

I enjoy engaging with customers and drivers and providing a high level of service for transport solutions.

Q.)Can you describe a particularly challenging project or task you've worked on at Kings Transport and how you overcome those challenges?

Fisher & Paykel has been the most challenging project over my years at Kings. I helped transform Fisher & Paykel with visibility and structure to their business in transport and, in return, have worked alongside an amazing team in Vic.

Q.)How have you seen Kings Transport evolve since you’ve been here in terms of technology, safety, or other areas?

Kings have heavily evolved in terms of technology since I started over 15 years ago; I remember we used a system called "Carry", an old DOS system to where everything was manually entered. So grateful for where we are now regarding technology and how far the business has evolved.

Q.) What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out in their career at Kings Transport or in the logistics industry in general?

My advice for anyone starting off in this industry is to enjoy every day as it comes, learn from your mistakes and ask as many questions as possible to advance your career.

Q6. What are your interests or hobbies outside of work at Kings?

I have been involved in many bands over 30 years with some of my closest friends, composing and recording original music and achieving a European record label.
