Our Respect Your Driver campaign is rolling out in NSW, and you'll see Ashley's face on buses in the Hunter Valley.

Ashley has been driving with CDC for nearly five years and really enjoys what she does, from school runs to local routes. What Ashley values most is getting to know the faces, routines, and sometimes the stories of her passengers.

"It's a great role that takes patience, focus and respect," she says. "I'm able to communicate with many different people from all walks of life."

For Ashley, having respectful conversations with passengers is what makes her day run smoothly and enjoyably, and it's why she values the campaign.

Behind the wheel of every bus is a driver like Ashley, who brings their heart to their role and a commitment to the people they transport.

Supporting the Next Generation of Storytellers

At CDCNSW, supporting our local communities goes beyond getting people from A to B safely.

Every school day, we help thousands of students travel to and from school across New South Wales. So when the opportunity arose to support aspiring film students from UNSW, we were more than happy to get involved.

Working alongside Annyeong Films, the students filmed scenes for an upcoming production on and around our buses, gaining valuable real-world experience and bringing their creative vision to life.

We're proud to support emerging talent and provide opportunities for students to develop their skills outside the classroom. We can't wait to see the finished production and wish the cast and crew every success.

Behind every emergency response is hours of training, teamwork and preparation.

On Saturday, our Edgeworth Depot hosted a major emergency services simulation involving a dramatic scenario where a highway overpass collapsed, sending a bus and multiple vehicles onto traffic below.

A huge thank you to the many CDC NSW team members who worked behind the scenes to make the exercise possible. We were also proudly supported by O'Neills Towing, who helped create the realistic incident scene, and the Rapid Relief Team, who kept participants well fed and hydrated throughout the day.

The exercise provided valuable real-time training for emergency services personnel in the Hunter Region and gave our OCC team the opportunity to experience and respond to the pressures of a major incident scenario.

Feedback from participating emergency service agencies was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising both the quality of the exercise and the support provided by our team.

We're proud to support initiatives that strengthen emergency preparedness and help keep our communities safe.

A fantastic turnout at our Bus Driver Information Session!

On Saturday, we welcomed an ethusiastic group of attendees to our Terrey Hills depot to learn more about a career as a bus driver with CDC NSW.

Hearing directly from our experienced team gave participants a real insight into what life behind the wheel is all about, from serving the local community to being part of a supportive depot team. It was also a great opportunity for attendees to ask questions, explore the role in more detail, and get a feel for what it's like to work at CDC NSW.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We enjoyed meeting you and sharing what makes bus driving such a rewarding career. We look forward to welcoming many of you to in the near future!
