Short week but a busy schedule.

Some of the team are wrapping up another vessel discharge for Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia in Port Kembla, with other vessels for various customers unloading in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and more arriving into Port Kembla from tomorrow.

With vessel activity taking place around the country for a number of our OEM customers, along with the usual branch transfers and customer deliveries, there’s certainly plenty happening behind the scenes at the moment.

We’re proud to support a number of OEMs across Australia and appreciate the trust they place in our team.

A bit of a birthday for one of our trailers.

This week we got our 2020 quad float back from the team at Lustec and we’re pretty happy with how it turned out.

Rather than replacing a trailer that still had plenty of life left in it, we decided to invest back into it and give it a freshen up.

The works included blasting and repainting the coaming, gooseneck and ramps, polished aluminium rims, toolbox refurbishment, lighting upgrades, hydraulic servicing and a range of other improvements.

It’s always exciting taking delivery of new equipment, but there’s something to be said for looking after the gear that’s served you well and making sure it’s ready for the next chapter.

A big thank you to the team at Lustec for the quality workmanship. We look forward to seeing this trailer continue moving machinery around Australia for many years to come.

A few last moves underway before the long weekend.

Andrew loaded up at Port Kembla this evening with a load full of Komatsu utility machines.

A good way to finish the week and keep the wheels turning for our valued customer, Komatsu Australia

Proud to see one of our drivers, Dave, featured in Big Rigs recently.

What stood out most wasn’t the truck or the load, but the pride he takes in his work. The journalist noted that after returning an hour later, he was still there cleaning his truck.

It’s that professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in the job that we’re proud to have representing AGM Heavy Haul every day.

Well done mate. 👏

A couple of moves wrapped up over the weekend for Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia with 2 x ZX890’s making their way up to Mackay from opposite ends of the country.

Moves like this are always impressive in their own right. The planning, coordination, permits, timing and ex*****on that goes into moving machinery of this size safely across Australia is something I’ll never get tired of being around.

But if you scroll through the photos, there’s one in there of Wayne sitting in the truck.

To me, Wayne represents a bit of a dying breed in this industry.

Guys that have spent decades on the road, that can reverse a float into somewhere you’d swear was impossible, that know the roads, know the machines, know the weather, know the risks, and can usually solve problems before most people even realise there’s one coming. Or if there’s a problem, they’re already calling you with the solution.

In an industry changing as quickly as ours, I think there’s a real importance in making sure that knowledge gets passed on properly.

Technology evolves, systems improve, and the industry moves forward, which is a good thing. But there’s still an art to the old school way of doing things sometimes. Experience, instinct and judgement built over decades can’t just be replaced overnight.

Really grateful to still have guys like Wayne around AGM Heavy Haul. A lot of what younger people in this industry learn comes from people like him whether they realise it or not.

We’re extremely proud of the team effort on these moves and proud to work alongside people who’ve helped build this industry over a lifetime.

- Luke.
