Whale-watching season is almost here, and from July to September the waters surrounding Magnetic Island become a highway for some of the ocean's most magnificent visitors โ€“ humpback whales.

Each year, thousands of humpbacks undertake an incredible migration from the freezing waters of Antarctica to the warmer waters of Queensland, where they breed, calve and nurture their young before beginning the journey south once again.

For visitors and locals alike, it's one of the most spectacular natural events of the year. Keep an eye on the horizon and you may be lucky enough to witness a breach, a playful tail slap, or the unmistakable sight of a whale's blow rising above the water.

๐Ÿ‹ Whatโ€™s one thing visitors should definitely experience when they visit your business? An experience with whales is something that you will never forget. Our Sunset Whale tour is a must do.

๐Ÿ‹Whatโ€™s a fun fact about your business that most people donโ€™t know?
We named a whale the same name as our boat, โ€œKanyiniโ€. The word Kanyini means responsibility and unconditional love. We asked for permission to use this word from Indigenous Elders.

๐Ÿ‹Whatโ€™s the best time of year to visit your business, and why?
Every day of the year, BUT whale season from July to September is spectacular. When you hear and see whales, it truly is an experience you will treasure forever.

๐Ÿ‹Can you share a memorable story from one of your visitors?
"A whale sprayed โ€œwhale breathโ€ on us!".

๐Ÿ‹ If your business had a mascot, what would it be, and why?
Definitely a whale. We actually sponsor a whale named โ€œKanyiniโ€ through Happywhale sightings. Every season we hope weโ€™ll be lucky enough to see her return to our region.
