Our buses can go places, literally.

We are proud to support Slow Rail Journeys – The Vinelander by providing charter bus services for this incredible regional experience, now for the third time.

Our CDC Mildura charter team has been working hard to make sure every passenger transfer is safe, smooth and comfortable, helping connect guests to the many highlights across our region.

From Mungo National Park and the Trail of Lights, to Orange World and the Murray River wine and dine experience, we are proud to play a key role in moving visitors between these amazing destinations.

With more tours booked in for the rest of the year, this partnership continues to be a great opportunity for our depot and a chance to showcase the strength of our charter services.

It is also a fantastic opportunity for our drivers to experience some variety and to demonstrate the high level of customer service they consistently deliver.

This World Environment Day, we’re showcasing some of the innovations in sustainability that are helping to reduce emissions and combat climate change.

We recently introduced two zero-emission hydrogen-powered fuel cell buses serving the Geelong community. These emission free buses align with our vision of a more sustainable, eco-friendly future in transportation. The adoption of hydrogen technology is a natural continuation of our vision of harnessing innovative technology to enable greener journeys that began with the introduction of hybrid and electric buses to our fleet. Together, these eco-friendly buses help to make transport greener on the services we operate.

Our sustainability journey began with hybrid technology and today we operate one of Australia’s largest hybrid bus fleets with a total of 50 buses in Melbourne, and we continue to increase the number of battery electric buses across the country.

Currently we have 8 electric buses operating from our Oakleigh Depot in Victoria covering the city and south-east suburbs. Following the commencement of the Metropolitan Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) Franchises contract on July 1 2025 we are also transitioning our operations in Victoria to zero-emission transport, reinforcing our long-term commitment to sustainability and delivering the State’s Victorian Bus Plan. This transition will include upgrading our depots to transition to electric bus charging with more electric buses to be in operation later this year.

In NSW, CDC is operating several electric buses from its Terrey Hills, Mt Kuring-Gai, St Mary’s and Rouse Hill depots.

In regional NSW, CDC is currently operating four battery electric buses in Queanbeyan and Narrabri as part of Transport for NSW’s ZEB trial across the region.

As a significant player in the transportation sector, which is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions, we are actively transitioning to more efficient and greener transportation methods. We are actively reducing our environmental impact by electrifying our fleet, improving energy efficiency, and investing in clean, renewable energy.

Our recent Staff Family Day was a fantastic reminder of the value of bringing our people together.

From the kids’ activities and on-field moments to great food and a strong turnout, it was an opportunity to connect, relax and enjoy time outside of the workplace.

It was especially rewarding to see families sharing the experience together. For many, it was their first live footy game, making the day even more memorable.

A big thank you to everyone who helped bring the day to life and to all who attended. Events like this highlight the strength of our community and the importance of creating moments that bring people together.

We are proud to recognise the outstanding achievements of our drivers through GreenRoad Fleet Elite program which is a key part of our continued investment in safety and performance.

GreenRoad Fleet Elite recognises drivers who consistently demonstrate the highest standards of safe driving over time, earning new levels for each year of strong performance. This year, we were proud to award our drivers across the network with this recognition, celebrating their commitment to safety, professionalism and continuous improvement.

These achievements are backed by incredibly strong depot-wide performance, with millions of kilometres driven safely, improving GreenRoad scores, and a shared commitment to safer journeys for our passengers and community.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and our ongoing investment in programs like GreenRoad ensures we continue to raise the bar.

We are incredibly proud of all our drivers and teams for this achievement.

A shout out to our Mildura team for their continued commitment to community engagement and safety.
Our Mildura's Depot Manager, Luke Charles delivered a 90-minute session at SuniTAFE Mildura, helping students better understand bus safety and how to confidently navigate services across the Sunraysia region.

With strong engagement and hands-on demonstrations from bike racks to accessibility features, the session brought public transport to life.

A great example of supporting safer journeys and stronger community connections.
