Great news from Truck Park Liège: Opened in November 2025 - operating at full capacity in less than one year!

This EU-Parking Standard Gold certified Safe and Secure Truck Parking Area in Remicourt (near Liège) is already running at full capacity. With 143 parking spaces, high security standards, dedicated facilities for female drivers and quality rest amenities, it sends a strong message: investing in high-quality, secure truck parking is good business!

ESPORG is proud to have supported this success, both during the development of Truck Park Liège and through its Wellbeing Campaign - Drive Safe, Park Safe, Work Safe, Live Well.

The recent Wellbeing Day at Hesbymazout brought this commitment to life with health check-ups, physical activities and opportunities for drivers to recharge.

Last week, ESPORG participated in the Green Logistics Expo 2026 in Padova on 14 and 15 October, contributing to discussions on the future of European logistics and the role of secure truck parking in building a safer, more efficient and sustainable transport network.

During the two-day event, ESPORG presented its work and took part in a dedicated discussion with parking operators, highlighting the EU Parking Standard. The exchanges underlined the importance of certified parking areas in strengthening security, improving service quality and supporting the development of the infrastructure needed across Europe’s transport corridors.

ESPORG also presented its new Financing and Funding Toolbox, launched through the EU Parking Academy. The course provides practical guidance for investors, developers, parking operators, consultants and public authorities on the different stages of a parking project, from initial planning and financing to construction and profitable operation.

Discussions also addressed the wider role of secure parking areas in the European logistics ecosystem, including the energy transition, digitalisation and driver wellbeing, priorities reflected in ESPORG’s ongoing initiatives.

ESPORG has officially signed the IRU Charter for Women in Road Transport, reinforcing its commitment to improving working conditions and supporting women's participation and career development across the sector.

For ESPORG, this commitment is closely linked to the role of Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas in creating safe, dignified and welcoming environments for all drivers.

Through the six principles of the Charter, the industry is encouraged to advance:

Equal opportunities in recruitment and career development.

Fair pay and better work-life balance.

Fair treatment and conflict resolution.

Safe, secure and dignified working environments, including appropriate parking and sanitary facilities.

Through the Ewellin - European Wellbeing Initiative, powered by ESPORG, and its Women Wellbeing Working Group, ESPORG is also working with IRU and CP to research the needs and challenges of female truck drivers and translate their experiences into practical improvements.

Building a transport sector where women can enter, grow and thrive is a shared responsibility.

European Commission's studies show that completing the TEN-T core network would add 1.8% to EU GDP and create 10 million jobs by 2030.
🌍 Efficient and resilient transport infrastructure — including safe and secure truck parking areas, roads, railways, ports, airports and inland waterways — is vital for Europe's economic growth, energy security and military mobility.

ESPORG and the alliance of 39 European transport organisations in calling on EU leaders to restore and strengthen transport funding in the next EU budget.

ESPORG participated today in the high-level conference “Integration and Connectivity along the BBA and Rhine–Danube Corridors: Joint Solutions for the TEN-T Core Network”, organised by the Romanian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure in Constanța.

Dirk Penasse, General Manager of ESPORG, was a speaker in Panel II – “Military Mobility and Strategic Resilience: Strengthening Europe’s Dual-Use Transport Network”, highlighting the strategic role of safe and secure truck parking areas:
“Safe and secure truck parking areas are strategic dual-use infrastructure. Strengthening Europe’s military mobility requires close cooperation between EU institutions, Romanian authorities, industry and parking operators, supported by adequate funding and harmonised standards.”

The conference brought together high-level representatives of European institutions, national authorities and defence organisations, including Margarida Marques - European Coordinator for the Rhine–Danube Corridor; Mario Mauro - European Coordinator for the Baltic Sea–Black Sea–Aegean Sea Corridor; Sorin-Dan Moldovan, State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of National Defence; Radu Cojocariu, Military Mobility Action Officer - EU Military Staff.

🤝 The conference also provided a valuable opportunity for ESPORG to strengthen cooperation and dialogue with the European Commission, Romanian Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and national authorities, industry partners Uniunea Societăților de Expediții din România - USER, and the academic community Faculty of Transport at Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București Anamaria Ilie

With concluding today in Brussels, ESPORG marks three productive days of exchanges and discussions on advancing Safe and Secure Parking Areas across Europe’s TEN-T network.

Today, we were honoured to welcome to the ESPORG stand Anne E Jensen - European Coordinator for the Baltic Sea–Adriatic Sea Corridor; François Bausch, European Coordinator for the Atlantic Corridor; and Marian-Jean Marinescu, European Coordinator for the Western Balkans–Eastern Mediterranean Corridor.

Across all the corridor meetings, ESPORG General Manager Dirk Penasse highlighted existing secure parking capacity, CEF-funded projects, remaining gaps and priority areas for further SSPA development. With 4025 additional certified truck parking areas needed in the EU until 2040, continued cooperation and investment remain essential.

Throughout CED2026, ESPORG also held high-level discussions with EU representatives, strengthened cooperation with transport & logistics industry and welcomed new members and partners to our growing network.
