Today, one of our drivers stopped by for a fresh set of tires. We took the opportunity to go a step further. 🔧🚛

We’ve upgraded the truck with tire pressure monitoring sensors, allowing us to track tire performance in real time. Because we believe: knowing is measuring.

And let’s not forget the details: the chrome rims are shining like new, thanks to our driver’s care. A clean truck reflects pride and professionalism. ✨

We’re happy to welcome Mejar to Handico Trucking!

Mejar is currently pursuing a Graduate Degree in Transport & Logistics at , and he will be joining our team for a total of 18 months. During this period, he’ll get a real hands-on view of how container transport operates in practice.

What will Mejar be doing?

Mejar will start by observing our daily operations to understand the full scope of our processes and workflows. Step by step, he’ll grow into a more active role, with the goal of eventually supporting the operational team and contributing to day-to-day ex*****on.

We’re looking forward to supporting his learning journey and having him on board.

Time slots at terminals can suddenly disappear when the shipping line updates the booking.

Our team works around the clock to secure bookings, but even confirmed slots can become invalid due to changing closing times and ongoing system updates. This leads to long waiting times, unexpected issues at the terminal and in some cases additional costs when containers need to be temporarily stored elsewhere.

We understand how frustrating this is, both for you and for us. Unfortunately, actively monitoring and updating vessel closings is not something we can take on, as these changes happen frequently and without notice.

👉 Timely and accurate communication from shipping lines remains essential to ensure we are able to deliver the container on the correct date.

Two Days, One Goal: ISO & GDP Compliance

Today and tomorrow, Handico Trucking is undergoing a two-day audit as part of our journey toward achieving ISO certification and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) compliance.

For our customers, this is an important step towards even more consistent service, stronger process control and clearer documentation across our operations, so expectations are met in a structured, measurable way.

The GDP part is especially relevant for customers in pharmaceutical logistics. GDP is the recognised standard for the distribution of medicinal products and it helps ensure that pharma shipments are handled under controlled conditions, with the right level of traceability, deviation management and compliance. In practice, it supports safer and more reliable transport, particularly when working with temperature-sensitive products where handling and monitoring are critical.

ADR Training for Office Staff 📖

At Handico Trucking, we keep investing in knowledge and compliance, also on the office side.

Recently, we completed an ADR training for office staff , strengthening our understanding of the requirements around dangerous goods transport from a planning and administrative perspective. For now, two colleagues have completed the course: one from Planning Antwerp and one from Planning Rotterdam.

This helps us prepare and manage ADR shipments with even more confidence, ensuring clearer communication, better coordination and stronger compliance throughout the process.

More colleagues will follow soon, so we can further expand this expertise across the team.

Transport and logistics move fast, and plans can change overnight. 🔄

If there’s a vessel change, early release or delay, please inform us as soon as possible so we can anticipate and adjust. Early updates help avoid last-minute surprises at the terminal that can lead to unnecessary extra costs.

With timely information, we can proactively plan and work out the best solution together. Fast communication means more flexibility for our customers and better service from us.

Nikola has already been with us for a little while, supporting one of our improvement projects. She is a Master’s student at Universiteit Hasselt and will be joining us to work on her research.

Her focus: exploring the advantages of using inland terminals and how they can help us operate more efficiently across the container logistics chain.🏗️⛴️
