Seeking Class 1 Driver (Part-Time – Weekly Run) | Sydney, NS

BRAE Transport Limited is hiring a reliable, experienced Class 1 Driver for a consistent weekly run based out of Sydney, Nova Scotia. If you’re looking for steady, predictable part-time work with a well-maintained fleet and a team that values its drivers, this could be a great fit.

Schedule & Route
Every Friday night
Start in Sydney at 6:30 PM (depart at 7:00 PM)
Direct run to Truro, trailer switch, then return to Sydney
Scheduled arrival: 4:00 AM

Rate
$225.00 per run

What You’ll Do
Complete a round-trip linehaul between Sydney and Truro
Perform trailer switch safely and efficiently
Ensure on-time delivery and adherence to safety standards
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections

Requirements
Must-have:

Valid Class 1 license
Minimum 3 years of tractor-trailer experience in Canada (insurance requirement)
Clean driver’s abstract (issued within the last 30 days)
Clean criminal record
Reliable transportation to and from the terminal

$200.00 per day.

Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday nights
Depart Charlottetown ~11:00 PM → Moncton (2 stops) → Return to Charlottetown

This lane includes some use of a pallet jack for loading returns.

BRAE Transport Limited is a locally owned asset-based carrier that has provided services for over 16 years in the Transportation industry. We specialize in dedicated linehaul services, scheduled services running throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island. We provide Tandem Re**er services, Tandem Dry van services, and 40'/53' Container chassis for both Pier and Intermodal.

We would like to see our new team member grow with the support of our existing team. We would like for the individual to expand their knowledge in addition to bring forward their own experience to share with their new team as well.

The position we have open is for a well rounded individual able to work in a fast paced environment.

*Responsibilities*

The successful candidate will be responsible to plan and dispatch drivers on their respective schedules.

Accuracy and focus on detail while entering all dispatches into the dispatch system.

The successful candidate would be responsible to complete daily updating of the system to ensure all details of the dispatch moves were entered. In addition to following up on any P.O.D.'s required for billing.

Handling our customer requests and inquiries with updates until completed.

Monitor driver efficiency through use of GPS.

Maximize equipment utilization daily.

Prepare utilization reports upon request by supervisor or management.

*Our requirements*

Transportation and or dispatch, planning experience is an asset 1-2 years minimum.

Excellent verbal and communication skills.

Great computer skills with Microsoft office, in addition to dispatch system experience.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Knowledge of DOT regulations and HOS for drivers.

Salary position depending on experience.
