Beep beep. You never know where you’ll spot the Checker SMARTIE Car. This time, it was caught outside Chestermere, taking in the fresh country air. Cute? Yes. Roomy? Not so much. To know him is to love him and all the office staff adore Charlie Bear, aka Checker Charlie. Today is National Dog Day and we couldn’t be happier to have this pint-sized fuzzball manning the reception desk, providing barking security and handing out slobbery kisses for a job well done. 🐾💛

A big shoutout to Devinder in Checker 1591 who was spotted on Saturday morning being extra attentive to one of our customers. He escorted her right up to the medical facility, pressed the code to get into the office and made certain she was safely in before heading back to her cab. Last weekend, our good friend and loyal Checker Cabs rider Michael celebrated his birthday The Blues Can surrounded by dozens of friends. Nights like that are exactly why we’re making our rounds to local pubs and restaurants with Checker Cabs coasters. Each one has a QR code that lets you signal a taxi directly to your location, because a great night should end with good memories and a safe ride home, not a roadside arm-waving competition. Who doesn’t love cleaning up the house or business and getting rid of things you no longer need? We have the Electronic Recycling Association come by three times a year to collect our unused electronics, cables and pretty much anything that plugs in. It always feels good to clear out the clutter, give those old items a second life and keep them out of the landfill. It’s a simple way to clean up, recycle responsibly and give back to the community at the same time.
