Brennan Martin, the well-known actor and filmmaker of Christmas movies, has started filming his new movie, The Friendly Town, right here in Almonte.
For one special scene where the Christmas girls arrive in town, Brennan Martin chose to use a real local taxi company — Comfort Taxi! The scenes were filmed yesterday.

🎬 Exciting news for Almonte and Comfort Taxi!

Brennan Martin, the well-known actor and filmmaker of Christmas movies, has started filming his new movie, The Friendly Town, right here in Almonte.

For one special scene where the Christmas girls arrive in town, Brennan Martin chose to use a real local taxi company — Comfort Taxi! The scenes were filmed yesterday, and you may spot our taxi dropping the girls off in beautiful downtown Almonte. The taxi driver in the movie was a professional actor, not one of our regular drivers. 😊

About the Movie

The Friendly Town is a romantic Christmas comedy about two best friends who return home for the holidays, only to discover their town is trapped in a never-ending loop of Christmas movie clichés. Every few minutes, another perfect romance begins, another magical meet-cute happens, and another happy ending seems inevitable. The twist? The characters know what is happening and are trying to escape before they become the next perfect Christmas couple!

Why Almonte?

Almonte, where Brennan Martin spent much of his childhood and where his family still lives, has become one of Canada’s most recognizable Christmas movie towns. Many Hallmark-style productions have filmed here over the years, with Almonte often standing in for charming American towns. In The Friendly Town, Almonte finally gets to play itself.
